The way an antisemitic heckler walks out of this Jewish comedian's show when he challenges her is the whole Free Palestine movement in a nutshell.
She didn't care about defending Palestinians. She tried to make a Jew feel ashamed for existing, and when it didn't work, she just left. Good riddance.

I have spoken out against anti-Muslim hate in the Michigan Senate race. I will speak out just as loudly when the target is Jewish people.
Let me state a little-known fact: ISRAEL GETS LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET. That’s less than one tenth of a percent!
But there is an ad running that tells voters they can’t afford groceries because the United States gives so much money to Israel. In reality, the United States spends money in and on countries all around the world – but this ad singles out the Jewish state. The ad is as dangerous as it is dishonest.
You can disagree with how the United States spends money abroad. But telling hungry families that the Jewish state is the reason they are suffering is wrong and shameful.
Blaming Jews for people’s problems is an old story. Anybody who has read the last century of history knows where it leads. It is a dark pathway.
This ad is anti-Jewish hate and should come down immediately. Abdul El-Sayed should denounce it today.

Mehdi once wrote a book about how to win an argument even when you know you’re wrong. The trick is to be manipulative and dishonest.
Mehdi has never to my knowledge talked seriously about the Israeli historical experience as he demands of me for Palestinians.
And Mehdi is accusing me of ignoring Palestinians in an interview that, though it was meant to be focused on the Israeli experience, talked a lot about Palestinians.
I’m starting to think Mehdi isn’t an entirely trustworthy guy.

Macklemore — who’s been an outspoken supporter of Palestinians and those in Gaza for several years — joined Ed Sheeran's tour earlier this month.
“A big part of the reason why I wanted to do this tour in the first place is so I could stand up in stadiums like this and say two words that are very near and dear to my heart: Free Palestine,” he told the crowd during an opening set.

I think I’ve made my feelings on freedom of expression clear, but I am getting extremely annoyed by the Irish media failing to do their ethical duty and report on the Macklemore situation accurately.
In 2014 Macklemore performed in ‘Jewface’ with a massive hooked nose, something he issued an apology for after widespread backlash.
Any Irish coverage about him being removed from Ed Sheeran’s show that does not include this fact is fundamentally dishonest. It is directly relevant that a man being accused of antisemitism literally performed in Jewface. Indeed, this is the reason that most of my friends have issue with him.
People may tie themselves in knots to deny that Macklemore’s anti-Israel stance has anything to do with the blatant antisemitism he openly displayed in 2014, but most good faith people would be highly skeptical in this regard. Especially given that his 2024 song on Israel/Palestine invoked antisemitic tropes. The line ‘it’s always been about dollars and the colour of your pigment but white supremacy is finally on blast’ is a perfect blend of a classic antisemitic dog whistle and the dominant contemporary manifestation of antisemitism: rebranding Jews as ‘white’.
So by all means, make your arguments on freedom of expression. I am probably sympathetic to them as someone who is a free speech maximalist myself. But please be honest and address Macklemore’s noted history of antisemitism. And to Irish journalists: do your jobs and for once in your lives adhere to the ethics of your profession and report on this issue truthfully and without bias.

If Macklemore is trying to prove he doesn't hate Jews, blaming a Jewish stadium owner for the backlash against his own terrible behavior probably isn't the best way to do it.

Blackface is wrong but hooked noises and side curls are fine?
Ask yourself this: would you tolerate someone who did Blackface this way and give him every benefit of the doubt while the Black community are telling you he is racist?
No? Then why are your standards different for Jews?
I don’t think anyone should be de-platformed for their political beliefs. Separately, I do believe Macklemore is an antisemite and Jews who don’t want to see an antisemite at an Ed Sheeran concert shouldn’t be scoffed at, even if we may disagree about him being de-platformed.
And if you do scoff at them, you are certainly no ‘anti-racist’. Period.

Every antizionist who believes they’re “on the right side of history” while defending a dude who literally does Nazi salutes in Jewface needs to realize how profoundly they have been brainwashed into being the foot soldiers of a global anti-Jew agenda without realizing it.

Every Republican defending this MOU knows that if a Democrat had signed a document like this, they'd be blasting them to kingdom come. It's actually worse than the JCPOA. Iran made out like bandits. And now they know they can bring us to our knees with a few mines.

Regarding recent antisemitism incidents in the U.S., Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) says “It's totally unacceptable, and what's happening now is it's far too often in our politics on both sides…Whether it's Hasan Piker, who's a streamer on the left, or Candace Owens on the right.”
“None of this should be acceptable,” he adds. “And Mike [Lawler] and I… both of us believe deeply that we need to stand up to this.”
“It is something that all of us have a responsibility to push back against, regardless of party,” adds Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY). “What Josh and I are trying to do in putting this resolution forward is to say, ‘Enough,’ and to say to both parties, ‘We have to police our own. We cannot allow this. We cannot support candidates who engage in rank, vile antisemitism.’”
