There are many, many ways in which we actively let tragedies occur and people die because acknowledging the truth and creating policy around it would violate what is considered to be sacrosanct, the fiction of equality in all things.
"She was just the Co-Pilot!" "She wasn't flying the plane!" Meanwhile, she was running a girlboss learjet_girl TikTok channel and often flew with long nails that could impede instrument operation. She called herself a Lion and bragged about being a young pilot... clearly someone who is just too cocky for her own good, and that overconfidence and complacency killed 9 people. Co-pilots, assuming she wasn't flying at the time, are responsible for monitoring the instruments, the radar, and making course corrections when needed after obtaining permission from air traffic control. Depending on the investigation, it might have been her responsibility to obtain permission to change course to avoid that storm cell that doomed the jet. That permission arrived, but it was too late. Whoever was flying the plane should have made the call to move laterally to avoid the storm cell... they should have recognized how dangerous it was, and were probably too inexperienced to notice the danger. Learjets are also notoriously ice-sensitive, and they should have avoided that entire storm system, or turned back and cancelled the flight. The manual is explicit... "even small accumulations of ice on the wing leading edge can cause an aerodynamic stall prior" She could have been alive today, along with the 8 other people... but everyone has to pretend that the obvious pattern that is in front of them doesn't exist.

You cannot remain a Democrat in good standing if you oppose Abdul El-Sayed, but you CAN tattoo a Nazi swastika on your chest and pal around with Maoists and jihadists who think America deserved 9/11. So that’s the current state of the Democrats.
Congresswoman Stevens is not a current member of the Michigan Democratic Party, nor will she be in the future.

We heard for decades “it’s about changing hearts and minds” and then they completely failed to change hearts and minds.
Trump and his Supreme Court picks did their part and ProLife Inc™ totally dropped the ball at the state level because none of them were actually serious about limiting/banning abortion, almost like it was just a grift the whole time and you're all mad at Trump for exposing you!

Just so we’re 100% clear: A Haitian gang abducts four Salvadoran soldiers from a United Nations mission. The President of El Salvador launches a rescue operation to bring back his people. The gang leader asks the UNITED NATIONS to rescue his gang from the rescue operation. No words.

The response to Haley Stevens today is further proof that Islamists would never ever participate in US Democracy if they didn't have to.

Even if El-Sayed loses, there are going to be a bunch of these now. The usual complaint is “This is what we get for importing tons of immigrants,” and it’s true as far as it goes. But the bigger issue is, “This is what we get for whitewashing Al Qaeda since the Arab Spring, and in turn for getting in bed with Gulf monarchies determined to do it.” Everything we are seeing is downstream of not being able to say no to Saudi, Qatar, and/or UAE at various times and places.
Bone-chilling reporting from @TheAtlantic about Adam Hamawy, the Democrat likely headed to Congress from New Jersey who volunteered for an Al-Qaeda front, testified for the defense at the Blind Sheikh’s terrorism trial, and still refuses to answer questions about his long history working with Islamist extremists. theatlantic.com/politics/202…

The greatest argument against democracy: a "constitutional conservative" fabricating a quote out of thin air from a 19-second clip (seriously, Rogers says nothing remotely close to the 'quote') that is mindlessly repeated by hundreds because it conforms to their biases.
“I joined the military to serve Israel, now I want to join the US Senate to serve Israel.” - Mike Rogers They don't even TRY to hide it anymore.

Nobody actually watches the clips before responding. He never says anything remotely close to that quote.

The secular progressive understanding of religion is this: All legitimate members of a faith group do not actually believe the metaphysical/supernatural doctrines of their faith group. The only true believers are extremists, thereby making them illegitimate.
yes, to be contrarian. but obviously no one, even a "devout Catholic," which is what O'Connor called herself, seriously believes that the communion wafer isn't a wafer. if you even believed that the wafer was soaked in someone's actual DNA, you would not want to take it into your mouth & let it melt on your tongue.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Flannery O'Connor did not believe the Eucharist was merely "symbolic" or "metaphorical," contrary to Oates' claim. O'Connor repeatedly stated the Catholic belief that although the wafer has the physical qualities ("accidents") of bread, its true substance is Jesus Christ. eucharisticcongress.org/post/american-… usccb.org/resources/The_…

Her parents have asked over and over, that they don't want their daughter's death used for politics. Especially by Republicans who are against immigrants. She was a immigrant. Any other situation, she would be a target of ICE.

Incase you missed this one… An illegal immigrant who came in under Biden was arrested by ICE and a liberal judge ordered him released. He just immediately raped a woman inside her Minnesota home. Execute him. Put the judge who released him in jail.
EXCLUSIVE: A Honduran illegal alien who was arrested by ICE in Minnesota during Operation Metro Surge, issued a deportation order, then ordered released from ICE detention by a Clinton-appointed federal judge on "due process" grounds has now been arrested & charged w/ raping a woman in her Minnesota home while working as a handyman after his release. Police say the rape was captured on the woman’s internal home surveillance video. Authorities in Ramsey County, MN have charged 42-year-old MARCOTULIO MELENDEZ DIAZ with felony 1st degree criminal sexual penetration w/ coercion. According to the criminal complaint, on October 11th, MELENDEZ DIAZ allegedly overpowered and repeatedly raped the female victim in her own home in Mounds View, MN against her will while working as a handyman, and the assault was captured on the woman’s internal home surveillance system video. He is in custody on $150,000 bond and will face up to 30 years in prison if convicted. ICE has placed a detainer on him. ICE sources tell FOX that MELENDEZ DIAZ was initially caught and released at the Texas border by the Biden administration in April 2024. ICE arrested him in Minnesota in January 2026 during Operation Metro Surge and transferred him to ICE detention in Texas where he initially crossed the border illegally. An immigration judge issued him a deportation order on 3/30/2026 and MELENDEZ DIAZ appealed. But on 8/7/2026, a federal judge in the Western District of Texas, Judge Orlando L. Garcia (Clinton appointee) ordered MELENDEZ DIAZ released from ICE custody and granted his habeas petition on grounds of “due process”, and MELENDEZ DIAZ made his way back to Minnesota. The Board of Immigration Appeals then rejected MELENDEZ DIAZ’s appeal on 10/9/2026 and issued him a final deportation order, and two days later, police say he raped the Minnesota woman in her home.  Frustrated ICE sources say this alleged rape would have never happened if MELENDEZ DIAZ had remained in ICE custody. I’ve reached out to Judge Garcia’s office & courtroom deputy for comment.

Democrats literally bombed the capitol building and as a reward they all were pardoned and became college professors. What the fuck are you talking about?
Seeing as Trump was the guy who tried to incite the violent overthrow of the constitutional order, and the Democrats have never tried to do that, it's a fair answer based in the record of both parties

My favorite bit is during the 2016 campaign all the pro life activists were telling Trump just how terrible abortion is and he concluded “wow you’re right! We should punish the women who do this!” Pro life inc blew a gasket.
Trump gave the Pro-Life movement exactly what it asked for (overturning Roe and sending abortion back to the states) and the Pro-Life movement will never forgive him for it

Okay, if we're doing Anakin Chudwalker, and we want a coherent story instead of just hype and aura edits, the Malfoid-style "change just one thing" has to be Padme. It's the moment in AOTC where they're discussing politics in that field in Naboo. Have her actually share Anakin's frustrations with the Republic and the broken system. You don't have to drastically change her whole personality, it's actually good if she functions as a check on his impulsiveness and anger, but let her relate to what he's saying enough that he really trusts her and feels he can talk to her about anything. If you change that, then years later when he's having visions of her death and Palpatine is manipulating him, he'll actually tell her about it, and she, being a politician and a lot better at understanding that world, will be the one who puts two and two together and realizes that Palpatine is playing everyone against each other. Now you have two things that are true simultaneously: Palpatine is the source of all their problems, and the Republic is clearly broken if its system allowed that to happen in the first place. They conspire together to hijack Palpatine's plan for themselves. The moment Palpatine kills Mace and believes he's won, Anakin strikes him down. Anakin activates Order 66, but tells the clones to capture the Jedi if possible, not exterminate them. Padme has built a political coalition in the Senate that legitimizes Anakin's mostly bloodless coup, allowing him, as the hero of the Clone Wars, to step seamlessly into the role of Emperor after he kills the Separatist leaders on Mustafar and ends the war. Anakin knows what has to be done, and Padme knows how to make it all technically legal. The Jedi are given an ultimatum: submit to the new order and continue as its knights, or face the purge if they insist on clinging to the old, broken way. Most ultimately accept legitimate Senate authority. Those that don't get crushed by Emperor Vader and his Inquisitors. Instead of Palpatine as a Hitler figure, we get Anakin as a Caesar figure. Significant government purges happen. Corrupt officials and lunatics like Tarkin are quickly retired, or executed if they try to fight it. Thrawn becomes Grand Moff instead of Tarkin. He runs the military and ensures its loyalty to the throne. Padme keeps the Senate compliant. The surviving Jedi are reorganized under Ahsoka's command. Anakin fulfills his destiny as the chosen one by bringing balance to the Force, ending the binary choice between the joyless stagnation of the light and the self-destructive hedonism of the dark by studying the path of the Bendu and the Father that runs between them. Anakin focuses on expanding the Empire's reach across the galaxy and eliminating slavery and lawlessness. His methods are harsh, those who cannot be civilized, like the Tuskens, or who cannot be trusted, like the Hutts, are wiped out. But he isn't pointlessly cruel. He doesn't do dumb shit like enslave the wookiees for no reason or blow up planets just to prove he can. He takes Thrawn's advice and builds a highly effective normal military instead of ruinously expensive terror weapons. The Outer Rim is brought to heel. The cartels are destroyed. The government is authoritarian but actually effective and overall quality of life in the galaxy has improved, so most people think Anakin has simply brought order and major rebellions don't occur. Then 45 years later, the threat Anakin has been preparing for since he discovered it in Palpatine's holocrons finally arrives: the Yuuzhan Vong. This serves as the ultimate test of the system Anakin spent his entire adult life building. Old-Man-akin leads from the front, but eventually falls in battle when the Executor is boarded and Shimrra Jamaane strikes him down in a duel. Luke, with Mara Jade as his empress, ascends the throne and avenges his father by turning back the Vong invasion. Anakin's Force Ghost smiles as his son vindicates his life's work. Once the Vong are vanquished and the galaxy is unified and at peace, the Empire's totalitarian posture relaxes under Luke, who is of a less autocratic bent than his father was, and by the era of emperor Cade Skywalker, the system has transitioned back from a functionally absolute monarchy to a constitutional one, and structurally resembles the Fel Empire with the Jedi having been rebuilt as the Imperial Knights.
