A message to the people in #70Up: we have grown up together, and I’ve always watched with fascination, but the current series fills me with such unspeakable joy and grief at the same time. Thank you. A true epic. I salute you x

Stephanie Cole who's died was more than Coronation Street. Her Mrs Featherstone in the 80s Open All Hours is joyous: "When you've buried as many husbands as I have, your wardrobe tends to be somber. But that does not mean that it is not summertime underneath." Bless her memory

Actress and Carry On girl Jacki Piper is 80 today. A dear friend for over 30 years it was wonderful to catch up with her and her on screen Carry On romance Richard O'Callaghan last month.

As it would have been Terry Wogan's birthday, and it's 50 years this year since BBC One's Saturday Mornings live Children's shows started, let's have Terry open the doors to the Crow Road Motel on Saturday Superstore...

Here’s a Saturday night treat for you all; Kenneth Williams and Maggie Smith read Sir John Betjeman’s poem Death In Leamington, in front of the great man himself.

Something to cool you down. This gem I discovered in the archives 30 yrs ago. Terry Scott & Betty Marsden rehearsing a scene for Carry On Camping during the cold winter of 1968. Then off come the fur coats to shoot, as the film is set in summer. Truly suffering for their art

ITV 3 have finally shown the episode of #Corrie where Blanche slags off Postman Pat 😂 "Nowt but propaganda is this! And, as for Mrs Goggins, she'll be cowering behind 3 inch glass with a baseball bat under the counter".

Today marks 10 years since Caroline Aherne died. Taken far too soon, she was a genius and so naturally funny.

Margo Leadbetter was snobbish, humourless and entitled, & Penelope Keith managed to make her into one of the most adored (and oddly vulnerable) characters ever seen on a sitcom. She delivered every line as if it were a jewelled crown on a velvet cushion. An utter genius.
