Angry careless day drunk, Pete Hegseth is known for his impatience. He requested Eisenhower’s globe to be moved to his office, but instead of waiting for curators to properly pack & move it he sent his staff to just go get it, and they broke it. Is the Broken Globe a metaphor?

Oh, if I could only convince everyone to not pay attention to any polls or anything that anyone tells you. If you're being told that Talarico is running away with the votes you might think there's no reason for you to show up. Believe me there is. The Talarico/Paxton race is going to be close. Remember, we're dealing with the Republicans. Not the most honest people in the world. And not to mention that the richest man in the world is trying to buy a senator. A senator who is known for being corrupt. Remember when you were positive that Kamala would be president? You saw the stadiums packed and you felt the excitement? Yeah, it's like that again. There's only one way we have any chance to unfuck Texas and that's to vote. Please. Our children need you. We don't want a single one of them to be hungry or unable to get a good education and medical care. I'll get off my soapbox now. But I can't help myself. I'll be back soon.

A new emergency-ballot option became available today, Thursday, October 22. If a Tarrant County voter becomes sick or physically disabled on or after today, and voting in person would likely require assistance or risk their health, they may apply for an emergency late ballot. Yes—someone can bring the emergency ballot to the voter and return it to the election office. Here’s the process: The voter needs a sudden illness or physical disability that began on or after October 22, 2026, and a physician must certify that it prevents the voter from going to a polling place. The voter completes the emergency ballot application and gives it to a representative. The representative takes it in person to the Early Voting Clerk. The clerk gives the representative the ballot materials to bring to the voter. The voter marks and seals the ballot. That same representative returns the sealed ballot to the Early Voting Clerk by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3. The representative must be at least 18, cannot be employed by or related within the third degree to a candidate on the ballot, and cannot represent another applicant in this election. And for the record, I don't trust this process any further than I can throw Donald Trump

Morning in Kyiv after the night attack. I woke up early to make a warcoffee, wash and dry my hair before the power outage. My sleep was chopped up by explosions. russians hit the metro infrastructure on ‘my’ bridge. So, once again, metro trains aren’t crossing the Dnipro River over it.

Kyiv. Evening. I don’t like this feeling of waiting for the power to go off. The schedule says 7:30 pm. The power cut is late and could come at any second without knocking. So, I’m turning into a woman with a flashlight wondering where her power cut is wandering.

A Venezuelan billionaire wanted a presidential pardon. His daughter hired Trump’s former personal lawyer, Alina Habba, to a deal worth more than $50 million over four years. Small problem, Habba was still a Justice Department official. She began working for the company on January 1. 14 days later, Trump pardoned that billionaire. Habba denies having any role in securing the pardon. The White House and DOJ say she was not involved in the clemency decision. Nobody is stupid enough to believe that. This company was newly formed, its business was unclear, and the financial arrangement was extraordinary. Now add the $3.5 million in MAGA Inc. donations from the billionaire’s daughter, plus the separate dispute involving Habba’s new husband and his long-time friend Ric Grenell over a $17.6 million Congo-linked transfer. A $50 million deal. A presidential pardon 14 days later. Millions in political donations. And a separate fight over $17.6 million. That’s taking grifts to the next level.

🇷🇺 Great clip from Russia 🔽 “I just f*cking hate you. All of you who kiss Putin’s ass should just be thrown into a f*cking bonfire.” That last part applies to Putin’s ass-kissers outside Russia, too. 🔥

Glad to see CNN reporting on this. @Acosta and I raised concerns about DHS potentially using a military-grade “heat ray.” After 20+ years in national security, I find this deeply troubling. A weapon designed to inflict intense pain. Against civilians? Why does DHS need this? cnn.com/2026/10/21/politics/…

Public Service announcement: do NOT send your ballots by mail! Trump’s people control the postal service and they are already “losing” and returning ballots. If you want to be certain your vote is counted, drop your ballot off in person to your local Bureau of Elections.

We could all use a Mark Carney right now. Just listen to the man. While Musk interferes in Canadian politics and Starlink raises serious questions about technological sovereignty, Carney is investing in Canadian alternatives. This is what leadership looks like. No grovelling, no desperate attempts to flatter billionaires, and no surrendering national security to the whims of one man. Europe, take notes.
PM Mark Carney has confirmed he’s cutting ties with Musk and Starlink and heavily backing a $2.3 billion contract with Telesat Lightspeed. Musk and his mood swings has shown us who he is and we believe him.

GM announced a plan to do $20 billion in share buybacks... and the United Auto Workers is justifiably very upset. UAW President Shawn Fain condemned the buyback as "outrageous." The union says 4 out of 5 autoworkers at GM lack pensions or retiree healthcare and says that the money should benefit workers. Profits generated BY the workers are being funneled AWAY from the workers and straight to Wall Street instead of basic long-term retirement safety nets. And let's not forget how US taxpayers funded GM's $50 billion bailout. At $20 billion, this buyback authorization is roughly 27% to 28% of GM's entire market cap. This is one of the largest share buyback mandates in Detroit's history.
