Was fascinating to track down people who worked on this report 20 years ago. I appreciate those who have long since retired who spoke to me -- one source, 88, remembers working on this like it was yesterday -- and those who are still active. statnews.com/2022/02/23/land… via @statnews

1/ As we enter the 3rd year of a pandemic, many clinical researchers still lack resources to design & deploy DCTs. The wearable landscape has soared 🚀 & finding actionable sensor data has been harder than ever. Our solution? We're launching OpenAtlas app.gohumanfirst.com/signup

30+ pharma companies have submitted a digital endpoint to regulators to support a primary, secondary, or label claim. This tech isn't "exploratory" anymore. It's core to drug development. Welcome to the world of decentralized clinical trials. 🚀 dimesociety.org/index.php/kn…

As of this week, 21% of sites report being open for patient enrollment. It looks like sites have made it through the trough of the curve of halted study enrollment. @WCGClinical reports U.S., Israel, Poland and Ukraine have had the highest amount of restart activity. 2/5

Imagine you want to track your heart rate at home. 💓 Should you use ECG/EKG or PPG? What's better? New from the @ElektraLabs research team: @ChristineManta, @HannahCurren_Vo, and @fanarjian!
As COVID-19 disrupts research and patient care, collecting vital signs remotely is important. To measure heart rate, which sensor should you choose: EKG or PPG? The @elektralabs research team discusses tradeoffs to help you decide: medium.com/elektra-labs/meas…

Today, I get to see the draft 2020 Pharmaceutical Invention/ Innovation Index, a month ahead of release… We answered our question, that we asked 10 years ago: if you give the same molecule to two different companies, would you expect the same outcome…? (Quick hint: no…!)
Status: Re-reading a nice set of case studies by FDA of Phase 3 trials that failed despite positive Phase 2 results. fda.gov/media/102332/downloa… --> Bottom line: drug development is hard.

$ABBV just reported that they terminated a Phase 2 study of their anti-Tau antibody (ABBV-8E-12) in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Possible bad news for Tau-based therapies like $BIIB's BIIB-092 in PSP.

This report reveals incredibly horrific and shameful facts about the American justice system. It’s a crime that this type of research is not mandated and investigated by the justice system itself.
Among the most startling, if not entirely shocking, revelations? The realization that the death penalty, always a racist endeavor, has become even more so. Looking at the death penalty in Texas provides a great lens through which to see this. 4/7 theintercept.com/2019/12/03/…
