Mariela threatened: “If you don’t pay, you’ll regret playing good sister.” Surgery went well. Tumor gone. We reported the forgery a felony. My Parents saw everything. Mariela lost the apartment. Foreclosure. Moved home in shame.

On #SchoolGovDay the #BigQuestions team would like to thank all those wonderful people who govern our schools. Sherry Anderson said it best! “Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.” @IGovS1 @WirralGov @9000lives_org @melaniemay04 @neilayates @Aizenay95 @BullerSamantha @UKGovChat @BarkerLeadershp @jmrodden @SchoolGovDay @NGAMedia

Society lost something when carparks starting asking for your car registration. Yes it was technically fraud, but passing on your non expired ticket to a grateful stranger as you left the car park was one of life's simple joys.

Expecting a governance professional to be paid just £65 per meeting is appalling, and does not show this Trust in a good light if they value people so poorly. mynewterm.com/jobs/16165/EDV… Care to comment, @NGAMedia?

Struggling with wellbeing is more common than many people admit. The strongest first step is to talk to someone you trust. Connection reduces pressure and helps you see the situation more clearly. You are not meant to carry everything alone.

The gov says schools can ‘find savings’ but funding’s still below 2010 levels and the UK spends less on education than most advanced nations. Making schools fund pay rises from squeezed budgets isn’t efficiency, it’s neglect.
The government believes schools can find savings through adjusting the make-up of leadership teams and deployment of support staff, as it prepares to leave them to foot the bill for future teacher pay rises schoolsweek.co.uk/10-things-…

Sometimes it’s exhausting being a Chair. The weight of responsibility, the invisible hours, the emotional labour. That’s why every Chair needs a network. Here’s to those who give their all and to those who support them. You hold more than anyone will ever know. #governors

Current mood: irritable and feeling greatly undervalued. Have you check in on your CoG? Maybe they are having a week like mine, where the looming term of office end date is looking tempting to take my skills and expertise elsewhere. Anyone else feeling the same?

Absolutely @melaniemay04 without the responses we'd be talking to ourselves! Hearing different experiences from a wide range of people enhances our own understanding and practise of governance.
