I don't know about his thoughts on the Japanese, but my dad did tell me that my D-Day veteran grandfather harbored a deep and life long disgust for the Swiss due to their official neutrality.
馃嚡馃嚨 I鈥檓 Japanese.
I have a serious question for Americans. 馃嚭馃嚫
During WWII, Japan sent kamikaze pilots on suicide missions against American warships. 馃嚡馃嚨鈿旓笍馃嚭馃嚫
Many of these pilots were very young.
As a Japanese person, I find their stories deeply heartbreaking.
How do Americans view the kamikaze pilots today?
Do you see them as brave soldiers, victims of war, or something else?
Can you feel sympathy for someone who was willing to die attacking your country?
I genuinely want to hear your honest thoughts.
No matter what your do, you have to plan, be patient, and potentially fail. There's no way around that.
One of them actually did come back this week. 馃憖

Maybe those 3 won't come back, but damn, just seeing an invitation like that being sent and accepted is really cool to see.
I just finished a book on a Christian critique of the hadiths and I've moved onto to this lengthy exploration of the Crusades. Like most of the books I've been reading recently, it's extremely informative, engaging, and fills me with anxiety and dread.
In memoriam of BioWare:
A now defunct video game blog published a scoop that certain K-Mart locations were accidentally selling copies of Mass Effect (1) about 5 days prior to the official release date.

I immediately hopped in my car and went to the nearest one, nonchalantly asking the clerk at the electronics desk for a copy. The first two stores immediately declined and repeated to me the very obvious embargo of "Do not sell before 11/20/2027" printed on the packages.

Okay, so I replayed the trilogy a few years ago and ME2 was really solid. Even ME3 was extremely well done (although, you could see some clear examples of things that ultimately led to BW's downfall). Even the ending could be ignored if you left the Shore Leave DLC for last.
Seriously, if you're replaying ME3, just turn off your brain to get through the ending, and enjoy every bit of fan service that the devs put into Shore Leave - which is the best "love letter to the fans" I've every experienced.
One of the younger OCIA candidates/catechumens brought along 3 more people in their late teens or early 20s to class last night. What a frustrating and beautiful sight to see someone not even in Church bring more people to it in a single night than I have in my entire life.
Every once in a while I see a protestant engaging in sincerely touching Christian evangelization work, while also spewing anti-Catholic rhetoric, and it just makes me said.

He believes that current Church discipline is not just ineffective to the modern era(a prop that can be debated), but that it is actively immoral to exclude people who have sex outside of marriage from communion. (A prop that cannot)
You're not orthodox if you believe that.
