I used to be the person companies called after they got hacked. And I noticed something early on. The hack almost never sank them. The cover-up did. Every time, the team’s instinct was the same: wait until we know more, wait until we're sure, wait until we have the perfect statement, etc. And some of the biggest companies in the world have learned what that waiting costs. In 2016, Uber got hacked. Instead of telling anyone, it paid the hackers $100K to delete the data and stay quiet, and labeled it a bug bounty. The truth came out a year later. Uber paid $148M to settle with all 50 states, and its former security chief was criminally convicted. That same year, Yahoo revealed that a 2014 breach had exposed 500M accounts. The news landed in the middle of Verizon buying the company. Verizon cut $350M off the price. And in 2017, Equifax discovered a breach affecting over 140M Americans, then waited 40 days to tell the public. During that window, an executive who'd figured out what happened sold nearly $1M in stock. He went to prison for insider trading. Meanwhile, hackers don't wait. They post your data. They email your customers directly. And when customers hear it from a stranger first, that trust is gone for good. Telling customers early doesn't mean admitting fault. It can be as simple as: "We found suspicious activity. We're investigating. Here's what you should do right now. We'll update you as we learn more." On Tuesday, I'm sharing the exact framework I'd use to write that email if I were in your shoes. Follow and turn on notifications so it's there when you need it. Customers will forgive you for getting hacked. Most of them expect it by now. What they won't forgive is finding out you knew and said nothing.

Let us look at the facts, because Obama certainly does not: This man, who claims to be so concerned about "democracy" and "norms," just spent his latest rally mocking the President of the United States with the kind of racist, classist rhetoric that would get any other politician canceled in a heartbeat. He stood in Cleveland, Ohio, a state he knows nothing about and cares even less for, and compared the White House renovations to "Saddam Hussein opening a Cheesecake Factory." Let that sink in. The first black President of the United States, a man who built his entire brand on being a civil rights icon, just compared the American presidency to a brutal Iraqi dictator and a cheesy American restaurant chain. It is racist, it is classist, and it is utterly disgusting. He is mocking the idea of American grandeur, mocking the idea of a strong presidency, and mocking the very people who believe in making America great again. But this is who Obama is. He is a man who has spent his entire career attacking anyone who dares to challenge his narrative. He attacked the Trump administration for everything, from its immigration policies to its economic success, all while his own administration was a revolving door of scandals, corruption, and failure. He tried to destroy Trump with the Russia hoax, a complete and total fabrication that wasted billions of dollars and years of time, only to find nothing. He tried to undermine the 2016 election results, the 2020 election results, and now the 2024 election results, because he cannot accept that the American people do not want his socialist agenda. He is a sore loser, a bitter man who cannot stand the fact that his legacy is one of failure and division. Let us talk about his record, because it is a disaster. Under Obama, we saw the rise of ISIS, a terrorist organization that he mocked as being on the "JV team." We saw the Benghazi attack, where four Americans were killed while he played golf. We saw the IRS scandal, where his administration targeted political opponents. We saw the Fast and Furious scandal, where his administration walked guns into Mexico. We saw the VA scandal, where veterans were left to die while waiting for care. And we saw the creation of Obamacare, a healthcare law that has driven up costs, reduced coverage, and destroyed the American healthcare system. He is a man who has failed on every single issue he has ever touched, yet he has the audacity to lecture us on competence. And now he wants to talk about the economy? This is the man who presided over the slowest economic recovery in history, a recovery that only happened after Trump took office and dismantled his destructive policies. Obama's regulations crushed small businesses, his energy policies destroyed jobs, and his tax hikes hurt the very people he claims to care about. He is a man who has never created a job, never balanced a budget, and never achieved anything in the private sector. He is a professional politician, a parasite who feeds on the success of others while contributing nothing of value himself. His racism is not subtle. It is not hidden. It is out in the open for everyone to see. He uses race as a weapon, a tool to divide and conquer, to pit Americans against each other for his own political gain. He is the one who stoked the flames of racial tension, who told minorities that they are victims, that they are oppressed, that they are powerless without him. He is the one who created the narrative of systemic racism, a narrative that has done more harm to minority communities than any policy in history. He is a racist who uses race to advance his own agenda, and he should be ashamed of himself. The Cheesecake Factory remark is just the latest example of his complete and total lack of class, dignity, and respect for the office he once held. He is a man who has sunk to the lowest possible level, mocking the President and the American people with his pathetic jokes and his racist rhetoric. He is a man who has lost all credibility, all honor, and all shame. He is a disgrace to the office of the President, a disgrace to the Democratic Party (if you can get any lower than that), and a disgrace to the American people. We must not let him forget. We must not let him off the hook. We must hold him accountable for every lie, every betrayal, every moment of treasonous behavior. We must expose him for the fraud he is, the liar he is, the absolute failure he is. He is a loser, a tool, a moron, and a traitor. He is everything wrong with Washington, everything wrong with the Democratic Party, and everything wrong with the radical left. He is a man who has spent his life trying to destroy America, and he will fail. The truth will come out. The lies will be exposed. And Barack Obama will be left with nothing but the wreckage of his own pathetic, dishonest, and treasonous career. He is a man who has nothing to offer but lies, nothing to give but pain, and nothing to be but a warning of what happens when power goes unchecked and morality goes extinct.
