I am proud to call Sufian both a colleague and a friend. This is a hugely inspiring read. While a great story of overcoming adversity, it should not be this way. Thank you @unleashing_me for sharing your #Leadership story 👏

📅Day 2-Disadvantage is funded at least one-third higher in secondary schools than in 16-19 education, despite England having a compulsory education age of 18 and a disadvantage gap that continues to widen post-16.

I was pleased to ask a question of the Education Secretary of State @bphillipsonMP today.
Since 2016, @UCWeston has provided higher education in our town, enabling people to get high-level, high-value skills and knowledge, closer to home.
Under @UKLabour, the @officestudents has an opportunity to deliver a sharper focus on breaking down barriers to opportunity and improve life chances in towns like Weston. I hope OfS takes this opportunity eagerly and with both hands.
Thank you, Secretary of State, for the opportunity to ask my question and to raise the profile of Weston's growing #HigherEd sector.
