Britain has been exposed to volatile international energy markets for far too long. That is why Labour is establishing a new Energy Wealth Fund which will reinvest tax revenues from North Sea oil and gas into renewable and low carbon projects to support the clean energy transition and bring bills down for good.

Labour has granted approval for homegrown gas to be produced. Recent events in the Middle East have triggered global energy shocks and pushed up bills for families across the country. At a time of global instability, homegrown energy can be a source of national strength. The project will start to supply gas to British homes and businesses from as early as the end of this month, helping heat millions of homes and protecting hundreds of jobs.

No one should have to risk their health or, in the worst cases, their lives at the hands of cosmetic cowboys. People deserve proper care not to be exploited as a way to make quick money. Our new rules will ensure high-risk procedures are only carried out by properly trained professionals, protect under-18s and hold rogue providers to account.

I want Britain’s energy wealth to spark a new wave of clean power. Our decision to approve Jackdaw alongside the new Energy Wealth Fund means we invest in green transition and benefit from our existing natural resources.

“Being a few minutes late back to your car or typing one digit of your numberplate wrong shouldn’t end with a hefty fine landing on your doormat. “These charges leave people feeling ripped off and out of pocket, so I’m putting a stop to them,” says the Prime Minister.

This you?
The country is going down the pan and our Prime Minister is faffing around tweaking parking tickets. What is the point in Burnham if he refuses to touch the big issues like the ballooning benefits bill?

Nigel Farage’s excuses for his £5m ‘gift’ from an overseas crypto-billionaire never stacked up. Now his senior aides have been caught admitting it privately. Reform are up to their neck in sleaze and scandal. It’s time for Farage to fess up about what the money is actually for.

Parking should be straightforward, not another everyday hassle. Today we’re putting the brakes on rip-off parking charges - meaning drivers get a fairer deal, protections from being unfairly charged, and confidence that private parking providers are held to a higher standard. It's yet another step forward in this government’s plan to take the stress out of everyday life and ease the pressure on people's pockets.
