New in @ChromeDevTools! Debug an app's full performance trace with Gemini!
After recording a trace, you can now chat with Gemini about the entire trace, related Performance insights, and even connected field data - all without needing to select specific context beforehand!

i get the sense the people most bullish on vibe coding are people who have spent their careers talking to SWEs over 15-30min calls and haven’t quite grasped how many hundreds of daily decisions are hidden from them out of respect for time

you know what's actually impressive?
developers who can work on the same project for more than 2 weeks before switching to another framework, library, or programming language.
shiny object syndrome isn't a flex.

Making connections is still the best way to secure a job.
Companies hire by referral because it’s safer and cheaper to trust a coworker’s recommendation over filtering through tons of resumes.
Make friends, get your name out there, work closely with people who might help you land a job.
If you’re in college, join clubs, participate in events, go to study groups, meet new people. You never know when someone you know thinks highly of you and will refer you to others.
Join discord servers with others in your field of work. Connect with people on social media. Build a community yourself. Make a YouTube channel. Contribute to open source.
I often see smaller ambitious content creators who code and teach on camera. Picking them over a random person on a resume is a no brainer.
As of right now, there are developers on my discord that I would hire without a doubt if I ran my own company. They are ambitious builders and eager to learn. I have over 7,450 members on my discord, but only a few of those are actively trying to collaborate with me in building something and making an effort to get ahead
In this bad economy, if you truly want a job, you got to prove you have what it takes to get work done.
Not all doors will open for you immediately, but you at least need to start turning the handles now.

ElevenLabs has removed all titles.
Now, there's no "VP of X", "Head of Y", or "Director of Z". Instead we are just Growth at ElevenLabs, Engineering at ElevenLabs, etc.
Why? We're small, growing incredibly quickly, and hierarchy just gets in the way.
Instead the best idea wins no matter where it comes from. And ownership is driven by the results you have.
If you're obsessed with impact and moving quickly; not titles and status we're hiring for nearly all roles.
