#ADI asked the #UKHomeOffice about unlicensed establishments supplying animals for scientific use. We were told they do not hold records identifying these establishments, & they are not inspected by #ASRU. If the Government doesn’t know where these animals came from, who does?

At the 70th International Whaling Commission meeting, Antigua and Barbuda introduced a resolution for ‘the sustainable use of whale resources’, paving the way for commercial whaling. Thankfully, international opposition led to its withdrawal. #conservation

ADI TEAM PUTS OUT FIRE AT ADIWS. Yesterday the ADIWS team fought back a fire after sparks from a broken national power line ignited a wildfire and high winds propelled it into the sanctuary. ADI scrambled mobile fire fighters and were joined by ten neighbours to fight the blaze.

The lions and tigers were moved into their safe zones and the areas soaked. One member of our Resident Welfare Team was injured fighting the fire, received hospital treatment and is back at the sanctuary. Please support: UK act.ad-international.org/pag… US act.ad-international.org/pag…

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY @realJGoldblum ! Known for iconic films including Jurassic Park, Jeff has spoken about how working on Wicked, with its messages of compassion & kindness towards animals, inspired him to give up meat! Choosing to cut out meat is a kinder choice for animals.
