BLATANT case of big brand bias for SMU. Clearly SMU's national brand is carrying them into the Top 25 and the voters are giving them a nice blue blood bonus! If this was TCU, Baylor, or Texas Tech they would be unranked.
How in the world is this a Top 25 resume? So freaking lazy.

Texas in B12: 7-5 *Texas joins SEC Texas in SEC: 13-3
The SEC bias narrative is hilarious to me. Fans of B12 and ACC teams actually think their teams could survive an SEC schedule. Middle of the pack SEC teams could genuinely win those conferences. Y’all are just in denial.

SMU has got big brand bias 😎
Here’s a list of what I’m talking about: Alabama beats Miss State by 33 on the road: Alabama moves up 1 spot, Miss State drops 1 spot. SMU looks poor in multiple weeks, while Pitt starts 5-0 and beats VA Tech on the road: SMU barely moves, Pitt barely cracks the Top 25 and is still behind SMU. 4-1 Arizona beats 4-0 Cincinnati by 27: Arizona received a whopping 11 more AP poll points from last week to this week, still unranked. Wake Forest starts 4-1 with their lone loss competitively to Miami. The Demon Deacons record their LARGEST MARGIN OF VICTORY OVER AN ACC OPPONENT EVER: Eh, still receiving votes, can’t crack the Top 25. They’re absolutely GLUED to preseason rankings and some shiny big brand logos.

The reason CFB viewership is down has NOTHING to do with the playoffs It has to do with the fact that so many meaningful rivalries have been deleted
College football viewership is down Expansion of playoff will further weaken regular season football ratings
102
Now for the non-SEC team version: 2 team playoff: nothing will let us make it 4 team playoff: if we go 13-0, we may still get jumped by 12-1 Alabama 12 team playoff: If we lose once we get replaced by 3 loss SEC teams 24 team playoff: dang… we might have a chance!
2 team playoff: Awe we lost. There goes our season barring a miracle 4 team playoff: we lost, okay. Gotta win out and get lucky but still very alive 12: awe we lost again, can’t lose a third time or we out 24: damn. Four losses. We probably won’t make it in this year Awful

Hard to take any list seriously that leaves off the nations leader in total offense, Passing yards and top 5 in all major passing categories.

really really long and convoluted way of saying: "CMO at Dialpad is a Cal football fan"
Everyone is talking about Cal's landing the first jersey patch deal in the ACC, across all 30 sports, with @dialpadhq. Because Dialpad is a B2B company, that changes what this sponsorship is actually worth from my seat. Many jersey patch and stadium deals are consumer plays. The sponsor sells something to the fans in the seats, so more eyeballs means more customers. Dialpad is a different animal. It sells AI business communications software, phone systems, contact centers, and customer support tools, and the buyer is a company, not a fan. For a lot of B2B software brands, putting your logo on a jersey would be a strange use of money, because the audience and the buyer usually are not the same people. Cal is the rare place where they are. Start with the market. Cal sits in the Bay Area, which is about as dense a concentration of businesses and B2B buyers as exists anywhere in the country. Dialpad itself is a Bay Area company, headquartered just up the road in San Ramon. The people filling Memorial Stadium and following Cal Athletics include a huge share of founders, executives, IT leaders, and the exact decision makers who sign off on the software a company runs on. Then look at the alumni base, which is where it really lands. Berkeley undergraduate alumni have founded more companies than those of any other school in the world, over 1,300 of them, just ahead of Stanford. Every one of those companies buys phones, support tools, and communications software from somebody. When Dialpad puts its name across Cal Athletics, it is putting its name in front of a network of people who both run businesses and feel a real connection to the school on the patch. That is what makes this so smart. A consumer brand pays for reach and hopes some of it happens to land on buyers. Dialpad is getting reach that is already stacked with its buyers, plus the good will that comes from backing their team. For a B2B company, that is about as efficient as sports marketing gets. Cal found a partner whose customers are sitting in their own stands and spread all through their own alumni network. Excited to see how many other B2B companies notice what Cal just figured out.

Greg Sankey on the CFB Playoff Selection: “I’m an old idiot who only cares about stuffing money in my pants, so let’s ruin college football!!!!”
Greg Sankey on the CFB Playoff Selection: “I think there is a real scenario where the SEC is an 8 bid conference. I’ve had many conversations with individual selection committee members, and we have discussed how Missouri, Vanderbilt, and even Tennessee simply deserve to be in the playoffs. . . it’s a no brainer that the SEC has carved out at least 6 to 8 spots in the playoffs.”

Who's your daddy? We're your daddy.
I think you are missing the FACT that the db switched responsibilities and directionally set a pick right in front of the WR Enjoy the win. That was a blown call. There were many.

Canes fans will do literally ANYTHING but critize their own team for... 1) Their $8M/yr QB throwing a pick at the 3-yard line 2) Their coach NOT attacking our HORRID prevent defense with 20 seconds left 3) Not attacking us deep like they did in the first quarter 4) Their receivers dropping at least 10-12 passes (4 of them wide open) When SMU gets penalties, we call ourselves undisciplined; when Miami gets penalties, they blame ANYONE but themselves! THIS IS WHY THEY HAVEN'T BEEN TO THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME SINCE 2017!
This loss hurts more than others, I need to go scream!!! ▪️SMU rushed for only 23 yards & only converted 3 of 13 3rd downs & 0-1 on 4th. ▪️Miami had 433 yards total offense. ▪️Over +15 minutes of TOS for Canes to SMU. Penalties, horrible calls by the refs, & FUCK!

Ahmad Moses is a certified DAWG! Not only did he pick off Carson Beck TWICE (one for the game winner), but also recorded 6 tackles and 7 assists on the day. THIS MAN SHOULD GO IN THE FIRST ROUND!

If I wanted to watch the 12 best teams in the country I would go watch the NFL I watch college sports for the TRADITIONS, the HISTORY, and RIVALIRIES. But yeah if you want the sport to become a 32 team league then 40% of your viewership and I will spend our time elsewhere
College football parity is great until we get USF vs Georgia Tech in the 1st round and nobody watches Tell me I'm wrong and tell me I'm an elitist but the ratings won't lie

In first half, SMU gets called for an unsportsmanlike on a punt after an SMU player briefly stood over Wesco. Happens in front of side judge but back judge throws the flag. @accnetwork employee holding the parabolic mic, in full ACCN gear, lobbies side judge for call. Bad look.
