The weapons used by the ITBP are 50-years old and modernisation is required, said ITBP D-G Shatrujeet Kapur, who is set to retire on October 31. Stressing on the need to invest and develop drone and counter-drone technology, the ITBP chief said that it may not be possible to face China through traditional methods as it has invested a lot in the modernisation of its weapons and infrastructure.
“Drones are something through which a even a small country can challenge a big country We saw how Ukraine has challenged a superpower like Russia. The war was supposed to be over in few days, but 10,000 to 15,000 Russian soldiers are being killed, they are suffering. Look at Iran, how, without even a Navy, they, with the help of drones, challenged America,” he said.

The internet relies on digital certificates to prove websites are genuine. Eight eMudhra certificates have been distrusted worldwide after their secret keys were found to be crackable.
Imagine it like someone forging passports that border control can’t tell are fake.
Browsers have already moved to block them. Updating makes sure the fix reaches you.

A mindset of abundance automatically means a tolerance for a central percentage of fraud and mistakes with the calculus being that the outcomes form the rest will far outweigh the negatives from these two aspects.
This is something the Indian state doesn’t get. Hence all policies are tailored for zero errors/frauds in mind ending up with underutilised policy and underperforming national missions. Like the AI mission.
🔹Ideally the govt should’ve bought and paid for at a higher rate more subsidized GPU hours from the CSPs so that they don’t have to rush to high margin markets to cover up for the unrealistic low rates given to GOI.
🔹They should’ve kept a lower threshold for entry of AI project teams to utilise the India AI stack. The rules seem to have been kept with a presumption that many out there are to use subsidized GPU hours for irrelevant stuff.
🔹 There’s no sync or ability of free flow of capital between the different funding channels. Let’s say the commercial GPU compute cost estimate for a project is ₹2 cr. And at subsidized rates it is available to an academic project for ₹30 lakhs. The project team still has to find the ₹30 lakhs from some funding source. Where? PMRF? RDIF? Ministry grants? CSR funding? Industrial consultancy? Where?
These gaps left infilled lead to inefficient mission outcomes. You have a bunch of CSPs with unused GPUs looking for high margin markets and a bunch of AI startups and academic research groups with no GPU compute access to pursue their research.
Penny wise pound foolish.
Fait accompli concession. Every party worth its salt has already figured out how to download the rolls and run a decent OCR pipeline. End result being that a bunch of AI credits were squandered for no good reason. – at Delhi, India
After blocking dozens of films, the I&B Ministry is denying blocking even one film. – at Delhi, India
I’m shocked to learn of the denial of permission by @MIB_India for 31 films that had been selected for screening at the prestigious 18th International Documentary and Short Film Festival in Kerala, which is scheduled in Thiruvananthapuram next week. This is not only a betrayal of India’s proud tradition of offering a home to the best of world cinema, but an assault on the freedom of expression that is amongst the greatest assets of our democracy.
The government risks shredding our country’s already frayed image globally amongst creative artists, film-makers, writers and those who want to admire their work. @AshwiniVaishnaw please overrule the bureaucrats who have taken such an appalling decision!

Delhi Police tells Delhi High Court that the decision to denotify Jantar Mantar as the designated protest site was taken pursuant to the Supreme Court order of October 9.
In the order, SC had said that essential facilities must be provided at protest sites and that appropriate sites must be identified and designated.

In this 1st hand account of detention, the profiling in Delhi police aggression is quite horrific — how a detainee was treated if visibly Muslim.
Plenty literature on how that’s not a new problem; just taken to next levels in how much this hate has been normalized more broadly

Make no mistake: these protests are funded by foreign forces. Their local enablers are playing it out.
Why? Because Prime Minister Narendra Modi refuses to work for any foreign interests and only further the cause of BHARAT. Fullstop, that's the only cause. And the other one which prompted such arson under the garb of protest: the FCRA bill. IYKYK
