Iftar & Islamic Enlightenment at CCUK | Strengthening Faith and Knowledge 🤍 Yesterday, the Capital City University Kano (CCUK) community gathered within the university premises for a spiritually uplifting Iftar, bringing together students and staff in an atmosphere of unity, reflection, and gratitude. The evening was further enriched by a dedicated Islamic session organized by our students to educate our dear sisters and the wider Muslim Ummah. The session reflected the students’ deep understanding of the virtues of the blessed month of Ramadan and provided insightful guidance on key jurisprudential rulings, including matters relating to women and menstruation in Islam during fasting. It was a moment of learning, clarity, and reaffirmation of authentic Islamic teachings. At CCUK, we remain committed not only to academic excellence but also to nurturing integrity, faith, and sound knowledge. May Allah (SWT) accept our fasting, prayers, and acts of worship. Yesterday, I represented the Deputy Director Engagement of the Kano Patriotic Development Forum @KANOPDF in receiving the leadership of the Deaf Emirate Council, Kano State, at our office. We engaged in a productive discussion on matters about deaf welfare and sustainable livelihoods. I acknowledged the submission of a letter outlining their challenges, which I will promptly forward to the Deputy Director of Engagement for further action and consideration. Notably, the deaf leadership expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Co-Chair @MYPD2020 and Management of KPDF for initiating this forum, which aims to Transform Lives and Elevate Kano. The Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Abdullahi Ata, has condemned the inflammatory and reckless remarks reportedly made by the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, regarding the lingering Emirship tussle in Kano @barauijibrin @officialABAT @OfficialAPCNg
Minister tackles Kano deputy gov for ‘disrespecting’ Tinubu, gives him 72hrs to apologize. The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Ata, has condemned the inflammatory and reckless remarks reportedly made by the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, regarding the lingering Emirship tussle in Kano. A statement signed by the minister’s aide, Seyi Olorunsola, on Friday, lashed out at the Deputy Governor’s audacity in publicly addressing the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in an uncouth and disrespectful manner is unacceptable, disgraceful, and an affront to the dignity of the nation’s highest office. “The Kano State Government, through its Deputy Governor, has once again demonstrated its penchant for lawlessness and blatant disregard for democratic institutions. By demanding that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ‘remove the emir he enthroned and kept in a graveyard,’ the Kano State Government has extended its reckless and undemocratic conduct to the Presidency itself. ” Such an unguarded and irresponsible statement only exposes the Kano State Government’s failure to grasp the basic principles of governance, federalism, and democratic engagement. “It must be emphasized that the Emirship matter is a subject of litigation and, as such, subjudice. Yet, despite the legal processes in place, the Kano State Government and its agents persist in making incendiary and contemptuous statements, seeking to exert undue pressure on the judiciary and undermine the rule of law. This pattern of conduct amounts to sheer political rascality and a complete lack of respect for democratic norms and due process,” the statement said. The minister, therefore, demanded that the Deputy Governor and, by extension, the Kano State Government withdraw their inflammatory remarks within the next 72 hours and issue a formal apology to President Tinubu for their reckless outburst. ” Failure to comply with this demand will leave critical stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) with no choice but to seek redress through all available legal and political avenues. “It is crucial to remind Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his administration that the Presidency is not an extension of their local political theater. The Office of the President must be accorded the highest level of respect, and no government, no matter how misguided or emboldened by lawlessness, has the right to dictate terms to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. “If the Kano State Government believes it has a legitimate claim, it must channel its grievances through proper legal and constitutional processes rather than resorting to incendiary rhetoric and public grandstanding,” he said. The minister reiterated his unwavering commitment to upholding the integrity of our democratic institutions and ensuring that no state government, no matter how desperate, is allowed to subvert the sanctity of the rule of law. ” The people of Kano and Nigerians at large deserve leaders who understand governance, not politicians who thrive on reckless propaganda and political thuggery. “Nigeria is a nation governed by laws, and no amount of intimidation or reckless utterances will change that reality,” the statement added.
