Laconia Mayor Mike Bordes has met the volunteer, called the behavior unacceptable/disgusting, and urged full prosecution.
No name for the older man has been publicly released, and neither local news (Laconia Daily Sun, WMUR) nor police have confirmed an arrest as of the latest available information.
Because the event is only hours old, updates may still be forthcoming. In New Hampshire, this type of unprivileged physical contact can qualify as simple assault (a misdemeanor under RSA 631:2-a).
