This will be used to try to shut down or severely restrict access to local AI models. The govt and frontier labs have a huge incentive to try to corral everyone into approved ecosystems where they can be tracked and manipulated. Owning your inference is the only path to freedom.
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. Read my latest for Axios here: axios.com/2026/10/22/ai-agen…

I don't know what's more surprising: this guy's playing or the fact that a guy with this level of finger work is somehow unmarried.
Hundreds of years ago, a man invented this magnificent musical instrument. Then, another man composed this wondrous piece of music. And now, here I am, witnessing this brilliant performance. Life is truly a miracle.

Compute scarcity, in one chart Old GPUs are turning into appreciating assets
Nathan Lambert of @trillium_labs says Chinese AI researchers' jaws drop to the floor when he tells them how much compute OpenAI has: "The Chinese labs are very technically excellent. They are more compute-starved." "Without a doubt, they have a comparable talent pool to draw on... To say that China is anything but equal on talent, you're gonna have a hard time because they just have so many people being trained at such a high level." "What they don't have is compute." "You talk to people there, and you're like, 'Oh, I heard an average OpenAI researcher has five thousand H100 equivalents that they can access at any time,' and like their jaw just falls to the floor. They're just like, 'I can't comprehend.'" @natolambert @lishali88

If you have a DGX Spark cluster, adding cooling is an easy upgrade to prevent thermal throttling. I added this AC Infinity 2U fan in front of my 4 Sparks and dropped their temps ~7-10C. Easy win.

Also setting the max clock to 2200mhz helps quite a bit, but not really necessary if you have forced air blowing over them.

There's nothing kind about letting good people live in a fantasy world that no longer exists. You have to tell them, even if it hurts. Because the sooner they accept reality, the sooner they can adapt to the future.

Yeah, let's put the government in charge of the most powerful AI systems on the planet. That sounds like a great idea.
BREAKING: Palantir $PLTR CEO Alex Karp says "AI companies have to be nationalized." There it is... He just admitted this entire psyop is about government liability protection and taxpayer money to bail out their debt.

I agree. The frontier labs want regulatory capture and politicians want to use AI to control people. I wouldn't be surprised if a major city was plunged into darkness or a massive industrial accident is blamed on AI then used as an excuse to regulate and ban open source.
I'm calling it now. There's a huge AI-related psyop/false flag on the way. It's not a coincidence that Bill Gates has all of a sudden (and very publicly) turned on AI... At the exact same time as an Anthropic/OpenAI "whistleblower" went viral warning that AI will wipe out humanity by 2030... At the exact same time as a new fear-mongering Netflix documentary on AI is about to be released... At the exact same time as King Charles is set to host a summit with major AI executives to discuss "safety concerns". As with the Covid "pandemic", when the exact same narrative starts getting pushed out of nowhere across the board, with all the same terminology and buzzwords, it's highly likely that a massive psyop is underway.

signs you’re a bottom tier member of society: - littering - cutting in line - not returning your shopping cart - not saying thank you when someone holds the door - parking in a handicap spot when you don’t need one - carving your name into or graffitiing nature - wearing pajamas to the airport - passing your pet off as a service animal - being rude to service workers - lying/stealing/cheating

In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy. She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid. The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%. She handed out the checks herself. In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college. When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months. You've probably heard that part. Here's the part you haven't: The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top. Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave. She built her county an entire hospital. She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it. In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees. Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal. In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release. And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it. She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway. She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did. Rest in Peace, Dolly 🇺🇸

The so-called robber barons of the 19th century had the same understanding. It’s why they built hospitals and concert halls and train stations, and made the buildings timeless works of art. If you want protection and popularity from the people, you have to pay for it. Robber barons and Latin American narcoterrorists had a greater sense of noblesse oblige than modern-day tech oligarchs who sponsor tens of thousands of H-1Bs for Chinese spies while paying retarded influencers to accuse anyone who scoffs at razing farmland to build a Flock panopticon of being pro-China.
A middling 80 IQ narcoterrorist in Mexico has a better understanding of how to get the support of small towns than does a West Coast tech bro who fancies himself one of the smartest men on earth. If scum-of-the-earth retarded narcoterrorists can get away with literal murder by building schools and hospitals and soccer fields and showering the locals with a tiny fraction of the cash they make ruining millions of lives all over the world, imagine what Big Tech bros could get away with if they had even the slightest bit of humility or understanding of basic human nature. And yet, they’re somehow simultaneously dumber, more arrogant, and greedier than drug smugglers and human traffickers.

Insane pricing.
They will be $20K by EOY So glad I didn't listen to all the people telling me how stupid I was for considering buying two of these when they were under $8K "You could get 10 years of API for that price" Who's laughing now?

Another simpleton who doesn't understand anything about AI or business that blocks people after they point out how ridiculous they are. At this point I should make a list of all the fake AI influencers who have no idea what they're talking about.

Never listen to anyone like this douchebag who tells you that a 1-bit quant is useful. They're just dumb AI hype bros looking for clout. A 1-bit quant with a 0.50 KLD using Hermes agent only outputs accurate answers 34% of the time when using the full 90 turn tool chain lmao.
