Anthony Albanese has done something no Australian prime minister has ever done before.
He's taken a free trade agreement — a document that is supposed to be about buying and selling — and he's stuffed it full of climate ideology until it's barely recognisable as trade at all.
This isn't a free trade deal. It's a climate agreement wearing a trade deal as a disguise.
Here's what his own government's documents admit. DFAT published a paper titled "Benefits for Trade, Environment and Climate," and buried in it is this line: for the first time in a free trade agreement, Australia has made a binding commitment to implement the obligations under the Paris Agreement.
Not a reference. Not a nod. A binding commitment. And the same document says the agreement can be suspended over serious violations of climate obligations.
So if a future Australian government — any government, Labor or Liberal — decides the Paris targets are too expensive, too punishing, too destructive to our economy, Europe can drag us before a dispute panel and suspend the deal. That's not sovereignty. That's a leash.
And Albanese knows exactly what he's doing. Ursula von der Leyen stood in our own Parliament and said she was proud to have made decarbonisation a defining pillar of this agreement. A defining pillar. In a trade deal. The woman running Europe didn't hide it. She celebrated it. And our Prime Minister sat there and smiled.
Now let's talk about what these targets actually mean for ordinary Australians. The 2030 target is a forty-three percent cut below two thousand and five levels. The Climate Change Authority itself admits emissions need to more than double their current rate of reduction to get there in four years.
The Institute of Public Affairs ran the numbers and found that meeting the twenty thirty-five target of sixty-two to seventy percent would require the equivalent of a two hundred and ninety billion dollar tax burden over a decade. That's not a rounding error. That's a generation of wealth confiscated in the name of a theory that Europe itself is quietly walking back as its own industries collapse.
And here's the kicker that should make every Australian furious. The European Union has told us point blank — once negotiations are done, they're done.
Don Farrell repeated it. There is no reopening. There is no amendment. Whatever is written in that text is written in stone, and it binds not just Albanese but every prime minister who comes after him.
This is a man who can't win a debate on climate policy at the ballot box, so he's outsourcing it to Brussels.
He's taking the most contentious, most divisive policy in Australian politics and locking it into an international treaty so that even if the people vote him out, the ideology survives him. That's not governance. That's entrenchment.
Why is any of this in a trade deal in the first place? Because the far left has learned that you can't sell climate destruction directly to voters, so you smuggle it in through the back door of agreements nobody reads.
You attach it to something people want — cheaper wine, more beef exports — and hope they don't notice the poison pill. And when the Coalition objects, Albanese calls them nativist and protectionist. He turns legitimate sovereignty concerns into a culture war so he doesn't have to answer the actual question: why should a future elected Australian government be unable to change its own energy policy without asking permission from Europe?
But before we get to the treaty, let's look at what the green agenda has already done to this country on its own. Because the damage isn't theoretical. It's on every power bill in Australia right now.
Household electricity bills are up thirty-five percent since the start of twenty twenty-two. Gas is up forty-nine percent.

This remains one of the most remarkable stories of World War II. The war in Europe against Nazi Germany could have unfolded very differently were it not for the actions of these men - who purchased the vital enemy codebooks with their lives.
On this day in 1942, three men risked their lives in an extraordinary act of courage that would help change the course of the Second World War. 🇬🇧
On 30 October 1942, Lieutenant Anthony Fasson, Able Seaman Colin Grazier and 16-year-old Canteen Assistant Tommy Brown boarded a sinking German U-boat, U-559, to recover vital Enigma codebooks.
Their actions came at a great cost. Fasson, aged 29, and Grazier, aged just 22, lost their lives when the submarine sank. Brown survived, but tragically died two years later.
The documents they recovered proved invaluable to the codebreakers at Bletchley Park, helping them decipher German naval communications and enabling Allied convoys to avoid enemy submarines in the Atlantic.
For decades, their remarkable story remained largely unknown due to wartime secrecy.
Today, 84 years on, we remember Anthony Fasson, Colin Grazier and Tommy Brown. Three young men whose courage and sacrifice made a lasting difference, and whose contribution to history deserves to be remembered.
We will remember them. 🌺

WE ASKED "HOW MANY PEOPLE RECEIVED COVID VAX MEDICAL EXEMPTIONS DUE TO ANAPHYLAXIS FOLLOWING FIRST DOSE?
Former NZ PM Jacinda Ardern has a new Professorship at Sydney University, teaching "Empathetic Leadership".
Now feels a good time to review the Covid vax medical exemption system under her former NZ leadership.
In NZ OIA Ref: HNZ 00028251
How many New Zealanders experienced a life threatening Anaphylactic reaction following their first dose of the Pfizer injection....and then faced employment mandates, and applied for a MEDICAL EXEMPTION?
We asked in an NZ OIA.
Answer:
125 New Zealanders applied for a Medical Exemption (2a) on these grounds.
11 were exempted
114 WERE DECLINED
To this very day the Pfizer technical data sheet stresses that anyone who experienced an Anaphylaxis is CONTRAINDICATED for further doses.
In NZ, you were instead declined an exemption and told to have your next dose at a hospital emergency department with a team and a crash cart on hand.
Do you understand that?
If you were MANDATED to take the Pfizer mRNA under PM Jacinda Ardern.....and you experienced severe life threatening ANAPHYLAXIS with your first dose....
You didn't obtain a medical exemption to excuse you from the next MANDATED dose.
Instead...
You were told to make a specialist appointment with an Immunologist or with the Emergency Department at the hospital.
There you would be administered your NEXT dose of the product that nearly killed you with dose one.
There would be a resuscitation team on hand for your next anaphylactic reaction.

Taxpayers deserve to know how much of their hard earned money is being spent, wasted.
Electricity inflation has been 12.8% in last year a large part of the higher inflation rate 4.3%. 4.3% is pushing up interest rates and will ultimately make building wind and solar unviable.

When you realise the wind turbines aren’t spinning because they are waiting for higher electricity prices you realise it’s all a giant con.
The green tax is just another wealth-extraction tool that rakes in taxes paid by the public and redistributes them to the parasitic bureaucratic class, and every carbon tax, green levy, and renewable subsidy your government collects destroys more wealth than it could ever protect.
Frédéric Bastiat gave us the analytical tool in 1850: the seen and the unseen. Politicians point to the wind farm they built with your money. They never point to the factory that never opened, the heating bill paid by a pensioner in Leipzig, or the industrial jobs that relocated to Vietnam, where coal plants run around the clock with zero European oversight. Germany's Energiewende is the cleanest case study in Western economic self-destruction since the 1970s price controls on oil.
Germany committed to phasing out nuclear power while simultaneously mandating renewable expansion. The result was predictable to anyone willing to read a price signal. By 2022, German industrial electricity prices hit roughly 30 cents per kilowatt-hour, triple what American manufacturers paid. BASF, one of the world's largest chemical producers, announced it was permanently shrinking its Ludwigshafen operations and shifting investment to China. The carbon Germany "saved" by closing its nuclear plants evaporated entirely, because German grid operators burned lignite, the dirtiest coal available, to cover the gaps renewables couldn't fill.
Subsidizing inefficient energy doesn't reduce emissions globally. It exports industrial production to jurisdictions with weaker environmental standards and higher carbon intensity. You pay more at the pump, your government claims a moral victory, and a steel mill opens outside Guangzhou running on unfiltered coal. Net atmospheric CO2 rises. The accounting is done on a territorial basis, which means your government measures only what happens inside its borders. The atmosphere does not share that convenient boundary.
Taxation extracts resources from productive private actors and routes them through bureaucracies with no profit-and-loss feedback. Every pound, euro, and dollar filtered through that system funds less actual decarbonization than a competitive energy market would generate on its own, driven by genuine price signals rewarding genuine innovation.
