Politics doesn't define my place in the world.
I will be who I am regardless of who wins an election.
When my life ends, I will answer to God.
I'm fascinated by how Whiteness and Blackness still remain essentialist political identities in a country with growing economic problems. While we're still in a space in which we think that voting along those identities will somehow fix the economy, the key to unlocking the economy actually lies in destroying the relationship between simplified essentialist race identity and politics.
Essentialist race identity has no bearing on economics.
The most notable thing about each election is that we inch closer to erasing that line in the sand.
Considering that we're still here as a nation 3 decades into democracy says a lot. It isn't always pretty, but it says quite a bit about our resilience.
South Africa is still deep into a national depression.
The ANC has sharpened our acute socioeconomic inequality. Schadenfreude is still very real.
I hope this local election brings the light at the end of the tunnel a little closer. Nothing changes until it does.

South Africans are so brow beaten, we now even congratulate organizations for doing the job they are literally created for.
That said, and in the interest of fairness, trying to organize any form of election (pointless as it is) in this country is a tall order for anyone.
So well done to the IEC for setting up this farce of an electoral process.
Small aside: Would be great if we could get better disclosures on party donations.. I am not gonna hold my breath though.

Listen, the unsung hero of these elections is the @IECSouthAfrica - they managed to get just about everything done, in time, with only a handful of issues. That’s very impressive. Congratulations!

I was on the other side, in the room. I saw how this works.
While we reel from the election results, the other side keeps playing the long game.
The WEF's global elite move between corporations, regulators, academia and government. They build networks, shape policy, indoctrinate kids and keep pushing their agenda, regardless of who's in power.
That's how they do it. Organization. Thousands of meetings. Billions of dollars in capital. Corporate capture.
Conservatives, wake up. I'm sorry, but you're not doing enough.
We need a lot more organization, serious capital and Charlie Kirk's courage to speak up. Now.

If you want to know what’s really going on, here it is. We have now fully transitioned from 5th Generation warfare - or “the battle for your mind”, to 6th Gen warfare which is the battle for your soul. It is brilliantly laid out by @datarepublican in an excerpt from her book, UNELECTED:
In “A Revolution of the Soul,” an article for the fall 2024 issue of Stanford Social Innovation Review, PolicyLink states this outright: “The next American revolution must be a revolution of our collective and individual souls that allows us to grow into the fullness of our personhood and recognize the interconnectedness of all humanity.”
That is a direct quote. The soul becomes territory of the NGO-Administration Complex. They demand “soul work,” defined as the “transformative work of deep socialization.”
What is this “deep socialization”? PolicyLink continues: “We must prime our souls for the transformative work…. Soul work requires an ongoing practice of inward and outward reflection, as well as the courage to hold our wounds and faults, and those of other people and communities, with honesty and compassion.”
In other words: accept your guilt, adopt theirs, submit emotionally. This is the dissolution of the boundary between inner conscience and collective political obedience.
This is non-optional.
“If we are to recalibrate our systems, structures, and norms for the flourishing of all people, we must develop an individual and collective soul that can love all,” to create “a nation renewed through a flourishing democracy.”
Love is the keyword, but it is redefined to mean left-wing activism.
“To love all means to acknowledge the inherent dignity and worth of every person—not abstractly, but concretely—and to act in service of their flourishing.”
But what does “act in service of their flourishing” actually require? In practice, it means surrendering the self to the NGO-Administrative Complex, which defines what flourishing is: racial equity and social justice. This is Cultural Marxism—at its core, Communism—elevated to the spiritual domain.
To dissent from this is to suffer from an unformed soul.
“Soul work invites us to disengage from symbolic battles, perfectionism, and ideological purity…. It summons us to embody a principled consciousness without becoming ideologues…”
This is ideological conditioning by negation…stop resisting and stop arguing. Critique is pathologized as “maximalism.” You must surrender your mind to reconfiguration. The objective is explicitly named: “The task before us is to make an evolutionary leap to build social, cultural, and governing systems that work in service of human flourishing while manifesting within our souls an abiding love for all.”
That is psychological restructuring. This movement does not train citizens to reason through disagreement or assert their interests; it conditions them to be woke agents to carry out social justice.
This is the total and final inversion of Westphalia: The empire enters the conscience and calls it “love.”
But why should you care about a techno-hippie PolicyLink manifesto?
Because PolicyLink is embedded—operationally, financially, ideologically—inside the federal government.”
This is an excerpt from UNELECTED. I didn't promote it at the time because it is a radical chapter written after 350 pages of buildup.

Exactly!
When I grew up in Communist China, I was surrounded by completely brainwashed people, including myself.
Now in the US, I’m surrounded by people even more brainwashed than the communists I grew up with in China.
Communism thrives on a dumbed-down population. And the dumbing down is systematically carried out through schools, the media, and Hollywood!

You’d think, if your side just pulled off a stellar victory, that you might be happy. Even just for a day. Enjoy the win. Not people like this.
Reminds me of the self-appointed Stasi during Covid… More interested in the exercise of vindictive power than any of the issues they said they cared about while trying to get elected.
People who show their true colours in defeat are one thing, but it’s a dark, ugly thing to reveal that in victory.
And let me be clear, this isn’t a comment on Democrats, or people who just really hate Trump. You can identify the people I’m talking about by the vituperative, vicious, serpentine way they use the achievements of others (in this case an election victory) as a springboard for their own emptiness to leap out of the mire for attention.

They didn’t fail, they just got reassigned.
The 10,000 Starlink lasers were busy melting the ANC’s “Kill the Boer” radio towers and frying the SIM cards of every farm attack gang in the Northern Cape while the Democrats were busy counting their mail-in ballots under a bridge. Multitasking.
Next time, aim half of them at the ballot tabulators and the other half at the satellite dish on Cyril’s roof. The farmers can wait five minutes.

Replying to @CyrilRamaphosa
@CyrilRamaphosa, you have some nerve making pronouncements about elections in America when you ought to be answering for the corruption allegations surrounding your own presidency.
At least the international press continues to hold you to account and report on the scandals that have dogged your administration. Something our seemingly supine local journalists appear increasingly reluctant to do.
Perhaps you should spend less time commenting on American politics and more time accounting for your own.

Hey @kimheller3 and friends, remember how you blamed @solidariteit and @afriforum for losing AGOA? Well, it turns out that it was the ANC's actions that caused this all along!
It is regrettable that South African policies led to the termination of AGOA for South Africa. This was a predictable and preventable outcome resulting from the rejection by South Africa's government of real concerns raised by the U.S. Government. I remain hopeful that we can find a path forward to address our larger bilateral concerns, but the South African government must understand the gravity of the situation. We know that if America succeeds, so too will South Africa. This is the partnership I will continue to pursue as expeditiously as possible.
