El Camino Creek 3rd graders putting in the work with this take-home assignment to see how many sustainable holiday tips they can convince family and friends to take on. Inspired by @RepublicService this is just the start of EUSD's ecoliteracy BMPs❤️ @eusdtweets
Started the morning @EUSDFarmLab listening to 16-year-old entrepreneur, @gitanjaliarao, inspire hundreds to embrace change and ended the day with our interns preparing @eusdtweets to kick-off a change to their waste diversion program: +organics recycling. I love today's theme!

PDL Team Five completed their Wipes Clog Pipes data analysis. No surprise: wipes don't dissolve. The Breaking News: tissues stayed whole after a week submerged in water! Next up: awareness campaign funded in part by Leucadia Wastewater District. @eusdtweets inspired by @neorsd
BCK is kicking off our Climate Action Internship at Kimball Elementary school in @NationalSD. The students' work and their strategies to reduce pollution will mirror those found in the Climate Action Plan for National City. #bestwaytospendtheday @Kimballdlpta @isabelcsilva2
Snapshots from @eusdtweets ecoliteracy programs. From air pollution simulations explaining particulate matter to oil spill cleanups to best water filtration practices to balancing sustainable actions with everyday life, these students are learning how to care for our planet. 💚🌎
Oak Crest students jumped at the chance to learn how anaerobic decomposition of food waste releases methane gas into the atmosphere so they can better explain to friends and family why we should divert organics from the landfill.@EncinitasGov #ifitgrowsitgoes #Zerowaste #compost
We can't think of a better way to kick off @eusdtweets' ecoliteracy programs than with chickens on a school farm. Today we met with students at Ocean Knoll Elementary School to explain how they will create a climate action plan for their school to mirror the @EncinitasGov CAP🌎💚
Full circle moment for BCK and @eusdtweets as former students and @swpppinternship interns visit our local elementary schools to oversee waste diversion best practices. We are lucky to have these young environmentalist help out before they return to college.
