Same. All the way back in 2003 he gave me a call and talked through things with me for quite some time. Got an A on the report and his advice helped me immensely as I was deciding whether to work in news or for an athletics department. Forever thankful @darrenrovell took the time
Forget the fact that Darren Rovell essentially changed the game when it came to reporting Sports Biz - but when I graduated college and wanted to work in pro sports - I shot him a cold email when he was at ESPN. He wrote back, asked for my cell, called me and gave me advice for 45 min. That's class - and won't ever be forgotten.

ESPN did the run-up for tonight's @LSUwbkb-@GamecockWBB game in a big-time way. First WBB game ever in the ABC Saturday primetime window. Well done.

Not my cup of tea but the production value was pretty amazing for Bad Bunny. It was exactly what the NFL wanted - it has people talking. #SuperBowl

I am now going to call him the Oracle. Has to be done.
Notable stat from the Winthrop sports information oracle, Brett Redden: The .633 shooting percentage from the Eagles in the opening 20 was the fourth-best *ever* for Winthrop against a Big South opponent.

I don’t disagree but in no way could he, even in his wildest dreams, imagine it would be where it is now. It’s incredible
This man - Indiana athletic director Scott Dolson - may have made the greatest hire in college sports history when he hired Curt Cignetti from JMU two years ago.

Bananas. I wish I was not old because that 6am wake up call is coming soon but it was well worth it.
That, folks, was one hell of a collegiate football contest.

I don’t know if anybody has said before but did you know he played Division II football? Don’t know if they have mentioned.
Chambliss turning minus-10 into zero on the play before made that third-down conversion possible. Dude is a magician.

Originally glossed over this but then realized this means a head coach and an assistant that both played for Northwood Little League. That is my random thought of the day.

Reminds me of the amazing @PacerAthletics media events we used to do at Woodside back in the day. Loved the five events we did there on this same course. Coach is right, awesome for all involved.

Seeing all these crazy transfer portal stories makes me only appreciate the @GamecockFB trio of LaNorris Sellers, Dylan Stewart and Nyck Harbor even more. LOVE that mindset from those guys. Needs to be celebrated more in the sport.

Parents need to hear this: D2 and D3 offers are more valuable than ever. Missing a season kills momentum. Gap years don’t work. Sitting and transferring rarely works. Those coaches can move on fast. If you get an offer, take it seriously. mikefarrellpromotions.com
