As a child, I spent a lot of Saturdays at the Salem Public Library as my mother was a librarian there. I’ve been asked to give a book talk there at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. It feels like a full-circle moment. @RLPGBooks
And the award for ugliest tie goes to the one worn by West Salem boys basketball coach Travis Myers.

Cheryl Glass was an early Christmas present when she was born 62 years ago. Little could anyone predict then how much she would accomplish in auto racing. Pre order the The First Lady of Dirt: The Triumphs and Tragedy of Racing Pioneer Cheryl Glass. annieblooms.com/book/9781538…
Some basketball coaches are good at coaching. Other basketball coaches are snappy dressers. Clearly West Salem boys basketball coach Travis Myers is good at coaching.

Great book. Reading everything this man went to try to overcome the systemic, persistent racism working to pin him down was not surprising but still mind boggling. This bit of “past”isn’t too far from the present. Found it at @chbooksdc. Thanks @BPoehler for telling his story.
