At the end of his sermon each week, Father Richards offers an altar call, inviting anyone who needs prayer to come forward.
Last week, Father Richards gave the invitation and was surprised to see Lee Johnson, a local roustabout, coming forward.
โBrother Lee, what do you need prayer for today?โ Father Richards asked.
โMy hearing,โ Lee answered quietly.
Father Richards placed his hands on either side of Leeโs head and prayed a prayer so beautiful that surely the angels in heaven must have been crying. It was so profound that there were only a few dry eyes left in the congregation.
When he finished, Father Richards removed his hands from Leeโs ears and bellowed, โSo, Brother Lee, tell the congregation how your hearing is now!โ
Lee answered, โI donโt know, Father. Itโs not until next Tuesday.โ

communities sitting next to platinum mines, residents still face extreme poverty, poor roads, inadequate schools, etc.
A good example is Mhondoro-Ngezi, where Zimplats operates. Residents in villages including Turf, Mamina, Murambwa and Denhere face serious infrastructure challenges. Some learners reportedly walk 15โ25km to reach secondary school. Drinking water is a problem.
How is this even possible? Who is benefiting from all this money? With such amounts, Zimbabwe should be one of the most developed countries in Africa.
Look at countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Oil has helped transform their economies, even though their development paths and circumstances differ from Africaโs.
So why do so many mineral-rich African communities remain poor? Why do Africans have to suffer?
Who will rescue Africa if the wealth beneath our feet cannot improve the lives of the people living above it? This is completely sad and wrong. I hope one day Change comes to Zimbabwe.

MINERAL CURSE: I just came across Zimbabweโs mining figures, & honestly, the contrast with life on the ground is heartbreaking.
Zimbabweโs mining sector generated $8.5 billion in 2025, up from $5.9 billion in 2024. That's almost 30 times what Kenya made.
But look at this: 1/2

Hi Crime Watch. I am writing this with deep pain. This young man, Tinashe Mlizane, died in a horrible way yesterday because there are no safety measures and proper PPE that he was wearing when he was simply doing his job. He was crushed by an unguided conveyor belt. There is no safety measures on the belt and they were forced by the Chinese to clean a rolling conveyor belt with a shovel so the shovel got stuck in the belt and hooked him in. The emergency brake for the belt was broken so by the time they pulled it trying to stop it the guy had already passed on.
The company name is Nald Line in Mberengwa or Diamond Cement in Kwekwe or Livetouch. All these are the company names and the company is not registered yet.
My concern is there is about 300 men and 8 women and the only safety they brought us were condoms. I donโt know to use where? Workers are forced to work without safety belts and helmets and if you refuse to work there you are fired. I donโt know if its fair below are the pictures of the deceased. The next of kin have been informed. The photos need viewer discretion.

A three-year-old boy named Nevada was so good at football against five-year-olds in Winter Park, Florida, that the police were called and his family was escorted off the pitch in front of other children.
His offence? He kept the ball for too long. Grown racist adults complained that their five-year-olds could not get the ball off a toddler. The league then served his family with a trespass notice.
This is 2026. A Black child who should be celebrated as a rare talent is instead treated as a threat. Had he been white, he would be on every television channel as the next great star of the game.
Imagine what would have happened to this little boy a hundred years ago.

Where are the march and march people
A Chinese man, Hai Shi, running for Ward 103, City of Johannesburg. Under the ANC. The People's Councillor.
And there is silence.
No marches. No burning tyres. No hashtags. No Operation Dudula van with loudspeakers shouting "foreigners must go." No press conference asking for his passport, his papers, his ancestry. No one asking how long he has been here, or if he is "really South African."
Now imagine if that face on that yellow poster was Nigerian. Or Zimbabwean. Or Malawian. Or Mozambican.
South Africa would be ungovernable by sunset.
A Chinese national from 10,000 km away in Asia can become "The People's Councillor" in Johannesburg and we call it diversity,

Hi Crime Watch. My story goes like this. Yesterday I boarded a bus at ZBC going to Nyatsime. Ndaitobvawo kubasa nditori nemhuri yangu but ndakashungurudzwa neZRP paBoka. So when we are going to Nyatsime, we pass through Boka area just after Trabablas interchange.
Driver webhazi stopped there to let passengers get off the bus. During that process a police officer came into the bus saying that he is impounding the bus. The bus driver was told to drive to Boka police station. When we arrived, several passengers including me were forced into the charge office. I was badly beaten by one of the officers who I later identified as the Officer-in-charge. I was charged with touting and disorderly conduct. I was then placed in handcuffs and the same officer started stepping on the handcuffs to make sure I was in pain.
So from yesterday I was placed in the cells with others only to be released today at 5 pm. The admission of guilt receipt said I was charged with touting. While I was in the cells, no police officer wanted to take responsibility to issue us with the admission of guilt receipts. They ended up vakungokandirana nyaya yekuti sei muri kuti vanhu ava vane mhosva idzi yet mavatora mubus? The other question was sei musina kunyora nzvimbo yaitikira nyaya and they started threatening each other kuti zvamuri kuita ndezvebasa here or muchirikuda basa here? I have my ticket and pictures showing my injuries from the handcuffs akakonzerwa nekutsikwa kwaiitwa maHand cuffs naofficer in charge wepaBoka.
