Plot twist: Ethan was buying her shit without Hila knowing. Stuff was being delivered to the studio in unmarked boxes. Hila opened one full of skulls. M2K has autism, and as much as you want to say “it’s no excuse”, no one is perfect and new circumstances can happen which can be things to learn from. This is one of those cases and he has learned from it.
He has no family that wants to take care of him
He relies on the few friends he has to be able to live anywhere
and often those living conditions aren’t ideal
He was told he shouldn’t go to the event, and he listened and agreed.
