“It prevents STIs”- By educating circumcised men on condom use to prevent HIV but not educating intact men on it, you get a biased result favoring the circumcised population. This is not valid.
This is the primary case of intactivism, and my primary case for being against circumcision.
Why do we allow, or worse yet normalize, medically unnecessary surgeries forced on those who cannot consent?

We welcome the GMC taking a doctor to tribunal over allegedly failing to involve a seven-year-old boy in the decision to circumcise him.

For girls, the answer is no. Under federal law, a parent's consent can't make non-medical genital cutting legal, parents who consent can be charged, and the penalty is up to 10 years. Boys and intersex children get no such protection.

Colorado Proposition 135 may seem good to some people, but as an intactivist, I say it is a disaster.
While I oppose medically unnecessary surgeries being performed on children, this measure fails to address the most common surgery of this type: infant circumcision.

Some may say that circumcision does not affect fertility (true), or that it’s not as bad as castration (true), but that does not change one crucial fact:
It is done due to society’s perception of what a penis (and thus a male) should look like. That is a concept voters reject.

Cole Groth was born in March 2025 with a congenital heart condition. After a successful heart procedure, he was cleared to go home.
Two days before discharge, his parents were asked if they wanted him circumcised. They said yes, and say no one told them his heart condition raised the risks. His parents say he bled for hours overnight, losing nearly half his blood volume, and went on to suffer organ damage, emergency intestinal surgeries and heart failure. The hospital has said it cannot comment because of patient privacy.
Cole survived, but his family says his road ahead is long. No child should face that from a surgery he didn’t need.

Unfortunately many American nurses serve as accomplices to the #circumcision sales department in our hospitals and medical clinics, either because they want to protect their husbands’ egos or they ignorantly circumcised their own sons.
That is a lie.
