To me, the intriguing aspect of the John Lewis advertisement is that grandma lives alone in a five-bedroom house within easy reach of a John Lewis.... whereas you couldn't film the ad in the children's flat, as it would be too small to accommodate the camera crew.

I’d like to add that I hate their blurb: “From the mind of Edgar Wright.” The show was written by its stars, Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes. The fact that Jess, the show’s co-creator, is barely even mentioned is a clear indication of how little they know or care about the show.

This thread completely misunderstands the basic fundamentals of perspective. It’s not the focal length of the lens - it’s the distance from camera to the subject. Take a portrait with a 20mm + 200mm lenses, crop the former to match the latter + you will see the same perspective.
The myth that wide-angle lens are unflattering for portraits stems from the fact that you can’t shoot as close to your subject with telephoto lenses as you can wide-angles so you don’t see the comparison - the truth is that standing too close to you subject can be unflattering.

When I was Media Manager for London Knights Ice Hockey in the early 2000s I fought the CEO who wanted to run a Miss London Knights competition on the grounds that it was horrendously outdated. The CEO was a woman, Joan Hill, who had been CEO at Cardiff City.
After Fleetwood fans having seen our celebrations after Sarcevic 90+6 I’m happy for them that they have had their own moment to go down in their folklore. The Pugwash theme makes it pure cinema. 😂 #BCAFC
