Bought this by @GraemeCallister from the excellent @CaliverBooks at the Other Partizan on Sunday. From the introduction I can't wait to get stuck into the main text.
Well, this is fun! Presenting as part of Waterloo Day at @Apsley_Welly on the events & terrain of 18th June 1815. A packed programme with all sorts of napoleonic nerdery!
Remains of a napoleonic British signal/watch tower opposite Cleggan on the west coast of Ireland. Part of a coastal chain of similar structures. Going onto the 'to do' research list!
Interesting to see the impressive Wellington Monument/Testimonial in Phoenix Park, Dublin. Started in 1817 but not opened until 1861, without an originally proposed equestrian statue nearby. Perhaps a reflection of his complex and shifting reputation in Ireland of the period.

Surprised & disappointed that @I_W_M refuses to correct a factual error (not a matter of "nuance" or "interpretation") on an information board about Hitler's anti-Jewish race laws. The Nazi definition of "Jewish" is a known fact - please put this right!
