Walgreens generates literally billions in revenue. Why can’t they pay a living wage? They offer minimum wage to starting employees in Anne Arundel Co, Maryland.
That’s only 70% of a living wage. How are their workers supposed to live? This is immoral.

In Anne Arundel County, MD, the living wage for one single (no children) person is $15.84
The minimum wage is $11.75
People who work 40 hours a week can’t pay their bills, and that’s not okay.

However, they start hourly associates at minimum wage, which doesn’t seem very caring at all. Caring for your employees means paying them a *living* wage, but the least amount allowed by law.

Just found out that the local Walgreens starts people at minimum wage, which is five dollars less than a living wage.
