the negative case against AI gets stronger every day; even Altman admits the problems are very serious with no obvious solution. the positive case, meanwhile, looks weaker every day. a quote from Apollo’s Torsten Slok: “Despite massive investments and widespread hype around artificial intelligence, the technology has delivered zero financial payoff to corporate America outside of tech. Revenue per worker is… flat for the S&P 493…. Profit margins are… flat for the S&P 493…. No signs of AI boosting [measured] productivity growth…. Mainstream corporate America is pulling back and starting to view token spending… as a cost center…. Mainstream corporate America does not need the latest model and is unwilling to pay for it. As long as agentic AI and token spending are confined to a small part of the economy, the macroeconomic effects of AI will be very limited.” apollo.com/wealth/insights-n…

AI should really be called IA (Internet Assistant) because that's all it is. So-called "AI" isn't intelligence -- it isn't even artificial intelligence. It is glorified Internet Search programmed to mimic human-like responses, and lazy summaries generated with no comprehension.

The AI hype in biotech is just silly now. So your agent took only 12 hours to design a new drug? Great! Now, you still have to spend 5 years running trials and proving it works in humans without killing anyone. If AI does drug design like it does my stock reseach, there are going to be a lot of dead test subjects.

Never one to throw shade on philanthropy and I hope Elon does follow through, but there is a reason a large swath of people do not believe him.
Before your @elonmusk followers continue praising him claiming he will give shares of @SpaceX to children next year, let me remind you another promise he made but didn't keep. He banks on the fact you have short memories.

I am enjoying watch people posting that they will never have to work again because of AI. Have your AI do the math and ask where the money comes from. And then ask your oracle its plan to create a second growing season and decrease the gestation period of cows and speed up their growth

Billions in GB300s ... collecting dust in dark warehouses
Would be a fun homework assignment to calculate how many thousands of B100 and petabytes of HBM chips are sitting in crates, unlikely to be used for years, yet pushing core PCE up by 0.5% this year

“.. At the moment, we have more compute capacity than we have demand, and we have a lot of the tokens and processing power being given away in freemium solutions,” he told @CNBC. “Everyone in the AI race is running for a last-man standing position.” cnbc.com/2026/10/19/gartner-…

How did we go from Delta pissing off Elon to flying cars to AI bubble popping to Universal Basic Income in two weeks? This app is literally nothing but bot propaganda.

2027 is about to get crazy: according to Morgan Stanley, hyperscaler and neocloud free cash flow to hit its most negative point in 2027, with the shortfall even bigger once lease payments are include: just shy of $600BN in cash burn. In other words, the year with the biggest capex bill is also the year with the biggest funding gap.
