At this rate, it’s unclear how many more of Eby’s "big swings" the province can take. My latest for @BeatNorthern, link in comments.
NDP leader David Eby’s repeated justification for calling an election two years early is to stabilize his majority so he can “take big swings” to manage the province’s struggling economy, but how many more of those big swings can BC take, writes @tomfletcherbc for @BeatNorthern

Despite municipal & provincial candidates reporting fear among voters about the surety of their property titles, it hasn't gotten much debate this election. @LDoerkson said a @Conservative_BC govt will guarrantee private property rights and pass a law to protect them.
4 days before @Dave_Eby called the election, I asked him what his govt would do to protect landowners & if he would take @alexaloo's suggestion & negotiate with Cowichan Tribes to remove private property from its land claim. Eby sidestepped the ques, saying his govt would appeal Cowichan (the date has since been set for Nov 2027).
And below @BradWestPoCo, arguably BC's most popular mayor, weighed in (at the @BeatNorthern/ @PublicLandBC September panel again) on his govt's approach to the land claim in his municipality.

There is a lot of confusion about treaties and for good reason—the treaty process has gone off the rails, writes Aboriginal law expert Geoff Moyse for @BeatNorthern.
