ABC was handed a rare, golden opportunity after being elected in 2022, securing the mayoralty alongside majorities across city council, the park board, and the school board.
Did they act decisively to reform City Hall? Did they establish themselves as an enduring political force in Vancouver alongside the likes of COPE?
No, they did nothing of the sort. Instead, they alienated affable figures like Pete Fry and inadvertently helped cement Sean Orr’s status as a cult figure.
Making enemies is not a viable strategy for governance.
