Under The Hood no.1: Braylon Doughty - Among the more underrated T100 arms, at just 20 years old, he’s lived up to the reputation of being the most polished prep arm of his draft class thus far. Here’s my breakdown of CLE’s #1 pitching prospect: prospectslive.com/under-the-…

"The way Hosey did it and the example he sets for our team was instrumental in us getting as far as we did, and I just wanted to let him know how much I and we appreciate him and all that he means to the team and the organization." #Guardians Chris Antonetti on his conversation with JosƩ Ramƭrez after Cleveland's loss in the ALCS #GuardsBall @WEWS

Stephen Vogt: "I'm coming back." Carl Willis, too. Vogt discusses the challenges of living apart from his family (who reside an hour outside of Seattle, where the Mariners are seeking a new manager), but explains why "I'll be in Cleveland": nytimes.com/athletic/7714991…

unclear exactly what this entails at the moment, but i'm very heartened that a major american film distributor is *finally* willing to put its name on a movie that directly confronts the genocide in Gaza.

Cade pitched 11 innings in 16 days, going back to back just twice all postseason. Misused? Sure. Overused? Definitely not. It’s October. Sack up.

Career longevity perhaps? Did you ever play baseball???

The owner of the New York Yankees, the most valuable franchise in MLB, is is full support of a salary cap This should raise far more questions regarding the owner's driving purpose for implementing a cap (It has never been about competitive balance)
Hal Steinbrenner is asked if he'd be in favor of a salary cap in MLB: "I helped craft the proposals that we have given at the bargaining table, and I support those proposals in their entirety. That should answer your question."

Genuinely what is Cade’s dad’s issue?

Yep, Vogt should have resigned to a loss on Saturday, in a game that was 1-1 going into the 6th, and pitched Tanner Bibee just to save arms. Give me a break lmfao

Because anyone with a brain could see the rest of our staff was gassed? All you do is make excuses and fall back on analytics. We could have run him and he couid give up 10 runs over 5 on Saturday night and team would have been better for it.

They didn’t save anybody for anything. Gavin pitched in G5 of the ALDS. This was always going to be the turnaround with him. They were never starting him on short rest with how he looked in his last start. You’re making things up to be mad about.

You saved your best starter for a hypothetical game that never came before you had to win game 6 first….no that take is accurate

Him being paid means nothing. You’re not required to play guys because they got extended. He’s not shown anything since getting paid that’s warranted trust after struggling all season. Also, it was clearly evident by May that he wasn’t SP1 or even SP2.
Replying to @BelowAverageOPS
I think we're hung up on him because: 1. He's paid. 2. He was your SP1. 3. He has playoff starts. 4. He was praised by his manager all season. 5. He did not start a game despite everyone else looking gassed. It's just.....odd, at best.

Who else is there? Schneemann? It’s a 26-man roster that doesn’t have 26 playable players. Is what it is, it’s a depth issue they were bound to face in a condensed environment like October. Just because he’s there doesn’t mean he has to play.

Why in god's name was he on the roster if he was only going to pitch in "extra innings?"

A ā€œquality startā€ is as loose a qualifier as there is. It’s a built in 4.50 ERA. Tanner Bibee over the final 3 months pitched to the highest ERA of any qualified starting pitcher, and in September alone, it was over 7. Why in gods name are we hung up on Tanner Bibee lmfao
Replying to @BelowAverageOPS
Griffin was good. Bibee lead the team in not only IP, but also QS. He didn't start a game.

Just an impossibly dumb take
Vogt managed the pitching staff so poorly that Gavin Williams pitched one time in a 6 game series to go to the World Series

"Opening day starter" "Most starts and innings"
While a lack of hitting might eventually do in the Guardians (credit to the Rays), one of the great mysteries is what happened to Tanner Bibee. I know, Bibee wasn't great, but he led CLE in starts/innings. How Matt Festa is more trustworthy than your opening-day starter needs an explanation.

Hey can you show us Bibee’s final 3 months? Just curious! Thanks!
Tanner Bibee is still sitting on the pine with a fresh arm. While Vogt keep recycling the same tired bullpen arms night after night…this one is on you Vogt, let’s hope your hitters can bail you out. Bibee had 19 quality starts this year! More than Gavin & Parker…10th best MLB
