Filing this complaint into the void: Could airlines and air traffic control please wait to list planes as “departed” until the planes are actually in the air?

In the deepening chaos in the West Bank, the IDF detained several dozen American rabbis and volunteers, including my future Democratic colleague Brad Lander; Mattan Berner-Kadish, who grew up in my district; and at least 31 other American citizens helping Palestinian farmers try to harvest olives in the West Bank under the threat of violence. Meantime, vigilante settlers continue to terrorize Palestinians in the West Bank with scant consequences.
Last week, out-of-control settlers injured an American journalist. Now, the IDF targets volunteers for helping Palestinians harvest olives. The eyes of the world are on the West Bank.

So to recap, Aaron Judge:
-Hurt himself diving in an April blowout
-Played hurt for over a month
-Insisted on not playing rehab games
-Hurt himself again a week after returning
-Said he didn't think he'd need imaging
-Ultimately went back on the IL and might be screwed for the playoffs
Maybe, just maybe, it's time to stop letting players dictate their injury timelines and recovery plans themselves?

I’m so proud of the way my dad continues to follow the news so closely and wants to be part of the national conversation at 95! He insisted on speaking up at this moment, when some people in our community feel unsure about what to do. Lead on, Sandy Levin!

Concerning!
I grew up watching Max Scherzer pitch for the @Nationals. I’ll always remember 2019 (and his many years of service to DC beforehand). It’s hard not to not root for him. Congrats man. This is awesome.

If you want the US to decarbonize you need to a) solve interregional transmission and/or b) have affordable clean firm power at massive scale. Opposing both is like actually embarrassing and nonsensical.

For decades economists wondered if a supercomputer would make a planned economy more plausible. Instead hypercapitalism is using one to maximally squeeze every consumer
🦔Delta's CEO said AI will boost profits by 50% by setting a different ticket price for every passenger in real time. The airline uses an AI system called Fetcherr that generates a unique price for each shopping request. Delta told Congress last year it was not using personal data for individualized pricing. Its investor presentation described building toward offers for "you, the individual." Airlines are exempt from FTC pricing oversight.
My Take
This is what AI does for a company like Delta. It doesn't make your flight better or your bag show up faster. It watches how you shop and figures out the most you'll pay before you close the tab. Consumer Reports found Uber and Lyft charging 42% different prices for the same ride at the same time, and the House Oversight Committee found one case where two people got quoted $76 and $24 for the same trip. Delta is building the airline version of that, and every carrier will follow because the economics are too good to pass up.
Walmart told us this week that families are choosing between gas and groceries at $4 a gallon. Delta's answer to those same families is an algorithm that squeezes them for every dollar they have left. Airlines are exempt from FTC pricing rules, state laws are preempted by federal deregulation, and the CEO told Congress one thing while telling investors another. When people ask me where the trillions going into AI actually end up, I think Delta just gave us one of the most honest answers we've gotten.

A day after Reform Synagogue @CenSynNYC was attacked, Kol Haneshama, the Reform synagogue in Jerusalem, was attacked and vandalized.
In NY: across-the-board unconditional condemnation from city and state officials.
In Jerusalem? Crickets from officials.

Emerging details about the man who attacked Central Synagogue suggest he was a pro-Israel Mamdani critic who wanted to convert to Judaism.
Yet some are still blaming Mamdani for the attack.

Just so people are really aware of what this means: A Trump appointee has approved Trump’s personal crypto firm to operate as a bank
Corporations can conduct transactions in which the Trump family gets a cut
The public will not have to be informed
There’s no precedent for this
Exclusive: World Liberty Financial, the Trump family’s flagship crypto venture, says its trust company has received preliminary approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to become a bank. on.wsj.com/3SA9lTt

Earlier this evening, an individual disrupted Shabbat services at Central Synagogue in Manhattan. As synagogue security was escorting him out, he struck a member of the congregation, damaged synagogue property, and then spit at and headbutted a member of the security team. An NYPD sergeant working a paid detail at the synagogue immediately stepped in and took the individual into custody.
I have spoken with the rabbi of the synagogue, and I’m relieved that no one was seriously injured. Those who were hurt were evaluated at the scene and are doing well. There are no known additional threats at this time, and additional NYPD resources have been deployed to the synagogue. The investigation is ongoing.
I understand the sanctity of this space and its meaning for congregants. Central Synagogue is where I grew up. In joy and in sorrow, it has always been a place of comfort and peace. What happened there tonight is deeply painful. A place of worship should never be a crime scene.
