Big techs’s talking points are out and they are “be more like AIPAC” and “please don’t be mean to tech”
There are two kinds of outside-group ad:
1. Help an organization's allies by advertising on the issues that that candidate has identified work well in their favor, or against their opponent (typically identified through a redbox). This is usually NOT an issue the org itself cares about; the point is that the candidate appreciates the ads because it's a message that their internal polling tells them works. This is the strategy employed by AIPAC, crypto pacs, Leading the Future, and lots of others.
2. An ad on the organization's pet issue (like this ⬇️), which hasn't been identified as a candidate's favored message. The goal of these ads is really for the org to piggyback on the candidate's expected victory by spinning after the election that the race hinged on their pet issue. But candidates don't really like this, and it benefits the org's spin more than it builds appreciation for the candidate. This strategy is being employed by AI safety PACs, who are generally more interested in elevating the perceived salience of their issue than in building political allies.

NEW national survey from @NavigatorSurvey on AI
Two-thirds want more regulation of AI, only 12% want less — and that holds across parties (74% of Dems, 61% of Republicans, 56% of independents) and even among people who use it every week and like it.

“@Rob_Flaherty warns that Democrats risk giving up ground if they fail to take big enough swings. Voters are ‘giving politicians a lot of leeway to take big swings and to really reimagine stuff,’ he says. If politicians only stick to basics like plans to retrain workers at community colleges, ‘I think we’re going to miss the bigness and the ingenuity that the moment calls for.’”

Why do so many Montanans hate Democrats, and how is @SamForstag changing that?
FORSTAG: "I can truly emphasize with my friends and coworkers who had a sour look on their faces when I told them I was running as a Democrat."

Silicon Valley keeps making bets that Democratic memories are short while Republican ones are long, and that a few sponsored events and convention donations will get them right back on track with Dems when we take over again. I don’t think that’s a very smart bet.
When accounts post, share or comment at very high frequencies it can trigger automated systems. That's what happened with the No Kings IG account in the lead up to today's day of action. Unfortunately, that automated action was clearly taken in error. Everything is now working as it should and we sincerely apologize.

Tomorrow Together Co-Founder @Rob_Flaherty on tech money's impact on the election:
"The top funder on the Republican side is Elon Musk, number two is @pmarca. That money is pushing Republicans toward incredibly unpopular positions on tech and taxes...Money can't buy you love."

.@Rob_Flaherty on @PsakiBriefing: Voters see corruption and cost of living as all the same thing.
FLAHERTY: Voters are feeling this corruption message because they feel the system is broken, and it's going to be on Democrats to clean it up.
You might like Anthropic. You might think they're the good one.
They might even be reaching the conclusion that they don't want, say, an authoritarian government shutting them down capriciously in good faith.
But this is actually pretty illustrative of why a for-profit race to superintelligence just doesn't work: push comes to shove their incentive is to block federal limits on their work. It's why we need government to set the guardrails here, not the AI companies.
