You want to know what desperate looks like? Denying the role that Israel played in leading the U.S. into a war with Iran. Consider that the war with Iran has choked global energy markets and driven up prices of many goods including [checks notes] BANANAS.
You want to know what desperate looks like? Blaming the price of bananas on Israel. Consider this PAC ad just another example of scapegoating the Jewish state. At least we can thank them for a case study in antisemitism.

I am glad to see @Carr12Brandon & @jyjamespark engage w/ my second island chain strategy proposal & offer their view. I'll briefly respond to their critiques here: 1. They argue that if the U.S. pulls back militarily, China will be able to use economic & political power to force Japan, ROK, & others to its side. However, countering China's economic and political influence is not a job U.S. military power can accomplish. To do this, the U.S. needs a coherent economic strategy. Look at Latin America where Chinese economic influence continues to increase even as the U.S. surges military power to the region. U.S. military power in Asia cannot counter Chinese economic hegemony. 2. They are concerned about the risks of nuclear proliferation to allies if the U.S. retrenches. As I note in the paper, this is possible. But I also see some proliferation as inevitable & the result of Trump administration policies, including the war with Iran. The U.S. nuclear umbrella already lacks credibility. My view is some proliferation can be managed & is better than continue U.S. overextension. 3. They argue that the United States essentially cannot defend the first island chain from the second. This is correct, but I don't suggest it should. I acknowledge there are a small set of contingencies where the United States might use force to protect core interests & these contingencies could be managed without a major first island chain presence. Moreover first island chain bases are not survivable or defensible, so what's the logic for keeping them & planning to fight from them? 4. They leave unaddressed several of the core drivers of my recommendations, including the unsustainability of the current strategy (cost wise & limits of military power) & the effect of any U.S. first island chain presence on the risk of war with China, which they seem to accept. The status quo simply doesn't work any more, so any recommendation for future U.S. policy has to address these underlying issues, even if the changes recommended aren't the ones I propose.
In @RStatecraft, @Carr12Brandon and I offer a counterpoint to @jekavanagh’s recent call for the US to adopt a Second Island Chain strategy for East Asia. We argue against this strategy for geopolitical and military reasons. The US should maintain its alliances with Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines. (Thread): responsiblestatecraft.org/ch…

Israel has the means and capabilities to defend itself. Just last year, Israel sold at least $15B in military tech. So why are everyday Americans still footing the bill for its disastrous wars? @BenFreemanDC made the case for ending our support in a debate with @BlaiseMisztal on the debut episode of The Dialogue from @WashTimes. What isn’t, or shouldn't be, a matter of debate are the implications of putting undo pressure and influence to short cut established security processes for the benefit of any single partner nation. The U.S.-Israel FUTURES Act, as written, would pressure existing security cooperation entities to expand and accelerate bilateral technological integration; an arrangement that lacks clear precedent even among the U.S.’s closest allies. To protect sensitive U.S. technological development and to ensure congressional oversight is not further abdicated, the House (@HASCDemocrats @HASCRepublicans) should make clear it won’t vote for an NDAA that comes out of conference if it includes this provision, and the Senate (@SASCGOP @SASCDems) should remove or amend its corresponding Section 1217 from the FY27 NDAA and enter into a separate debate over the issue. responsiblestatecraft.org/is… @QuincyInst @RStatecraft

The Pentagon budget explained via a metric every American can understand: Oreos.
What if we invested in Americans the way we invest in war? Ben Cohen, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s, and Sully break down something every American deserves to understand: where our tax dollars go and what else they could accomplish. Using Oreo cookies, we show what a $1.5 trillion Pentagon budget looks like and what investing just a fraction of that money could mean for affordable housing, tuition-free public college, ending homelessness, childcare, healthcare, and better teacher salaries. This isn’t about weakening our military. It’s about questioning our priorities. We can have a strong national defense AND invest in the American people. The question isn’t whether we have the money. It’s what we choose to do with it.

NEW @BergerPosts : Did you know that the Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA) trains retired US military leaders who go on to work in the US defense industry, to be advocates for Israeli interests, both in their public writing and in their work behind the scenes? responsiblestatecraft.org/ji…

Some people get upset that 3/4 of Lockheed Martin’s $75 BILLION in revenue comes from American tax dollars. Others worry that a profiteering defense industry keeps us locked in endless wars. But have you ever considered that the Black Hawk, the Chickasaw, and the Choctaw are all named after Indigenous peoples? Defense companies care about the people they annihilate. And they care about you too. Don’t miss: Lords of War. Out now from @QuincyInst and @TheIntercept.
