Negativity around Michael O’Neill? Look at the data. 📉📈
His record at Stoke suggests this could be exactly the right move. He took over in 2019 with Stoke in a worse position than we are now—and didn’t just keep them up, he completely transformed them.
Here’s the breakdown of his immediate impact:
1. Survival to Playoff Form 🚀
Stoke were bottom with just 0.53 PPG when O’Neill joined (worse than our current 1.03). He tripled that to 1.58 PPG for the rest of the season. That isn’t just “new manager bounce”—that is promotion-winning form.
2. Attack First, Defence Second ⚽
Worried about parking the bus? Don’t be. He fixed the team at both ends. Stoke’s goals per game doubled (0.87 → 1.71) after he took charge. He unlocks attackers rather than stifling them.
3. Flipping the Mentality
Win rate jumped from 13% to 45%. ✅ Loss rate dropped from 73% to 32%.
4. The Ohashi Question 🔓
We’ve had a serious problem scoring goals this year. Can he turn Ohashi around? Look at Tyrese Campbell: he went from 1 goal in 15 games to 8 goals in 31 under O’Neill. He knows how to get misfiring strikers back on form.
A perfect fit for this squad? The numbers say yes.

If you think I’m going to waste my entire Saturday watching 8 hours of random European football teams that I don’t even support then you’re absolutely right.

Thank you to the @BoltonSchool lads who packed the 800 lunches in record time but also organised a system which saved volunteers the whole of the next day. Hats off to you lads you did a grand job. See you at Christmas. – at Bolton, England
@Philip_Britton @BoltonSchool these four students packed 800 lunches for @HomelessAid_UK, to feed the kids of Bolton who had nothing. They packed, labelled and organised everything in just 5 hours. I will certainly call the team again for other projects.

As a Blackburn fan I don’t think Liverpool should be worried about their post-title win form. We dropped off too but we’re still sitting comfortably mid-table in the championship

Personally I don't think people should have kids unless they can accurately predict exactly how their relationship & employment prospects will fare over the next 2 decades & then map out the upcoming socio-economic impacts of political events & decisions (both global & domestic).

I strongly support the campaign started by @MarcusRashford to get the gov to change policy and supply free school meals to the most vulnerable children during the summer as in Scotland and Wales. You do not stop being in need because term ends Pls RT and support #maketheUturn

This is how Angela Merkel explained the effect of a higher #covid19 infection rate on the country's health system.
This part of today's press conf was great, so I just added English subtitels for all non-German speakers. #flattenthecurve
