Und wieder stellt Varwick die deutsche Position (die in Wahrheit die Position der E3 ist) völlig verzerrt dar.
Das kann keine Unkenntnis mehr sein.
Das ist Absicht.

Wurde auch Zeit!
It is a shame.
But in line with all the attacks on IPCC and its previous findings that we see here daily.
In retrospect it is a miracle that AR6 came out with such strong statements, with the participation of several oil producing countries.
Yikes. "After a week of contentious deliberations and some displays of temper, the IPCC suspended its 65th session without an agreement on either a timeline for the remainder of its Seventh Assessment Cycle or even a budget for the coming year." enb.iisd.org/intergovernment…

Read the y-axis label perhaps? Temperature above the Greenland Ice Sheet is definitely very different from global temperature. Also these ice core data from Richard Alley end in 1885. Already years ago he rejected in the NYTimes the abuse of his data by fossil lobbyists.

Peter, may I ask whether you’ve actually READ the papers you cited? I ask because their conclusions don't support the interpretations in your post.
First, an important point about the ice core data.
An Antarctic temperature reconstruction from one ice-core location is NOT a record of GLOBAL mean temperature.
Antarctica has its own regional climate dynamics and was strongly affected by Southern Ocean circulation and the "bipolar seesaw" during deglaciation.
So showing that Antarctic temperature preceded Antarctic CO2 does NOT establish that GLOBAL mean temperature "preceded" CO2.
In their conclusion, Caillon et al 2003 wrote: "we should distinguish between internal influences (such as the deglacial CO2, increase) and external influences (such as the anthropogenic CO2 increase) on the climate system."
They concluded that CO2 participated in the subsequent ~4200 years of warming and that its radiative forcing amplified the initial orbital forcing.
Pedro et al 2012) also does NOT show that CO2 cannot cause warming. It examined Antarctic temperature and CO2 during the last deglaciation and found the Antarctic CO2 lag was less than ~400 years, while even a CO2 lead could not be excluded.
That's evidence of a close coupling, not evidence against CO2 forcing.
And then there is Shakun et al 2012, which your post also needs to account for.
Rather than relying on one Antarctic temperature record, they reconstructed GLOBAL mean temperature using 80 proxy records.
They found that GLOBAL temperature generally lagged increasing CO2 during the last deglaciation.
They concluded that increasing CO2 drove GLOBALLY in-phase warming, while regional temperature differences were associated with changes in ocean circulation.
So the paleoclimate evidence is considerably more complicated than “temperature rises first in Antarctica, therefore CO2 can't cause global warming.”
The key distinction is between the initial trigger of a natural deglaciation and the subsequent amplification of that warming by CO2.
Orbital forcing → initial warming/ice-sheet retreat → ocean circulation changes → Southern Ocean CO2 release → CO2 greenhouse forcing → amplified GLOBAL warming.
Today the situation is fundamentally different.
Humans are directly adding CO2 to the atmosphere by birning fossil fuels. That makes anthropogenic CO2 an external forcing, not a feedback waiting for some prior warming to release it.
There is therefore no contradiction between the paleoclimate evidence and the modern 'greenhouse' effect which is being increased by humans burning fossil fuels.

More detail in this thread:

The claim that “CO₂ always lags temperature” is a myth based on local Antarctic ice-core data, not global climate reconstructions.
This misconception was popularised by fossil-fuel propaganda such as the polemic film The Great Global Warming Swindle, which misrepresented the research of Nicolas Caillon et al. (2003).
The film cherry-picked a single Antarctic deglaciation event while ignoring the broader climate context and even the paper’s own conclusion:
“Finally, the situation at Termination III differs from the recent anthropogenic CO₂ increase.”
science.org/doi/full/10.1126…
In glacial cycles, small changes in Earth’s orbit (Milankovitch cycles) initially warmed parts of the Southern Hemisphere. That warming caused the oceans to release CO₂, which then spread through the atmosphere and amplified warming globally.
When global temperature reconstructions are examined instead of a single Antarctic record, the picture changes completely.
"Global warming preceded by increasing carbon dioxide concentrations during the last deglaciation" -Shakun et al. (2012)
"the small apparent lead of Antarctic temperature over CO₂in the ice core records does not apply to global temperature."
nature.com/articles/nature10…
Their global reconstruction found that CO₂ increases PRECEDED about 93% of the total global warming during the last deglaciation.
In other words:
Antarctica warmed first locally due to orbital forcing, but rising CO₂ drove most of the subsequent global warming.

Earth’s geological history confirms that atmospheric CO₂ has been a major DRIVER of global temperature for hundreds of millions of years.
Multiple independent paleoclimate reconstructions consistently find a strong coupling between CO₂ levels and global temperature:
“Atmospheric CO₂ exerts a dominant control on GMST, both today and in the geologic past.” -Judd et al. (2024)
“CO₂ is a greenhouse gas that has played an important, if not the predominant role, in regulating Earth’s temperature through time.” - Scotese et al. (2021/2022)
“The concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide is a fundamental driver of climate.” - Cenozoic CO2 Proxy Integration Project (2023)
“CO₂ and climate are coupled throughout the past 66 million years.” -Rae et al. (2021)
“We find a strong relationship between CO₂ forcing and temperature from the proxy data.” -Mills et al. (2019)
“The evolution of Earth’s climate on geological timescales is largely driven by variations in solar irradiance and changes in greenhouse gas concentrations.” -Foster et al. (2017)
“CO₂ as a primary driver of Phanerozoic climate.” Royer et al (2004)
“CO₂-forced climate thresholds during the Phanerozoic.” -Royer (2006)
“There is indeed a correlation between CO₂ and paleotemperature, as manifested by the atmospheric greenhouse effect.” -Berner et al. (2001)
Across multiple geological timescales, from the last deglaciation to the entire 540-million-year Phanerozoic, the scientific literature consistently finds that CO₂ and temperature are strongly linked.
Claims that CO₂ cannot drive climate because it “lags temperature” in Antarctic ice cores ignore this enormous body of paleoclimate evidence.
