I fed the video transcript, the NAS Report, and other papers on event attribution into Opus 5.5. That might be a helpful starting point.

I watched the video. It's nonsense, as expected.
A big red flag is she parrots paranoid denialists with history of being wrong (ex: Pielke, Curry, Koonin, the 'Real Clear Science' crowd).
I might do a thread on this.

By 'experts' they mean contrarians who work for fossil-fuel-industry-funded think tanks + have a history of failed claims on climate science.
So Roger Pielke, Jr.
Also nice to learn the 'Otto' leading important papers is a woman

After four record-warm months, Mediterranean SST anomalies are moving back toward the baseline. That applies to the basin as a whole though. Large parts of the western Mediterranean are still too warm, which is conducive to extreme weather in southern Europe.

The Trump administration’s cuts to weather satellites will set the country back nearly a decade, experts say. The loss of data used to observe, forecast and research extreme weather could prevent the US from making major advances in weather prediction in the coming years. cnn.it/4k6eD4o

"The “statistial significance” of this model is overwhelming, i.e. we can resoundingly reject the hypothesis that global average SST has warmed at the same rate for the last several decades.
It’s a lot faster now (about 0.3°C/dec) than it was before 2012 (less than 0.1°C/dec)."

While there is increasingly strong evidence that global warming is accelerating, we need to be careful about how we detect it. Unfortunately a newly published paper on the topic makes a number of mistakes in it approach, as I discuss over at The Climate Brink: theclimatebrink.com/p/how-no…
The preliminary OISSTv2.1 data suggest that the SST plateau in the Niño 3.4 region has come to an end.

New paper in Nature Communications led by Lander Van Tricht: glacier models run with daily instead of monthly climate data project 5 to 10% more glacier ice loss by 2100. That adds 20 to 33 mm to global sea-level rise.

Very useful:
Review of all (?) storminess reconstructions from coastal sediments published in 1985-2025 in Europe incl. several from our paleo-storminess group @Stockholm_Uni. A systematic large-scale storminess reconstruction remains on the to-do-list.

The central equatorial Pacific is experiencing its *strongest westerly wind burst* of this entire El Niño event — the 13th distinct burst across the wider Pacific this year.
It should help push Niño 3.4 temperatures toward 4°C above average by late November.
New review: Since 2009, climate fingerprint evidence for human-caused warming has grown far stronger across many variables, contradicting the 2025 DOE report used to rescind the EPA Endangerment Finding.

Another visualization of the September 2026 lower-tropospheric temperature anomalies, based on satellite measurements.
The dataset is NOAA-STAR. It has better coverage near the South Pole and does not exclude high mountain ranges. The baseline here is 1991–2020.

“Here we analyze the latest observational temperature records through 2025 and identify a statistically significant doubling of the global warming rate during 2011–2025 (0.40 °C per decade) compared to 1971–2025 (0.20 °C per decade). Extrapolating this accelerated rate projects a crossing of the 1.5 °C threshold by 2028, nearly a decade earlier than previous estimates.” 1/ link in reply…
