It took 362 pages of pure logic to prove that one plus one equals two. Russell and Whitehead built mathematics from the ground up in Principia Mathematica. Numbers became classes of equinumerous sets. Addition was defined through unions of disjoint classes. Only after hundreds of prior theorems did they reach the final step: 1 + 1 = 1 + ‘1, and 1 + ‘1 = 2, hence 1 + 1 = 2. Even the simplest truth required an entire logical foundation to stand. Certainty is expensive.

Okay phew so I’m not the only one that lives life by numbers…
Nikola Tesla had an intense compulsion for the number 3 and other numbers divisible by 3. He often walked around a block 3 times before entering a building, demanded 18 napkins (a number divisible by 3), and stayed in hotel rooms with numbers divisible by 3.

Everything around us, from the air we breathe to the stars above, traces back to a handful of fundamental particles. The Standard Model describes quarks and leptons as the building blocks of matter, while bosons carry the fundamental forces. The Higgs boson, discovered at CERN in 2012, helped confirm how the Higgs field gives mass to elementary particles. Yet gravity remains outside this framework, and the graviton, if it exists, has never been detected. We have a remarkably successful map of nature, but it is not the complete picture.

Playing video games may help keep the brain mentally active by constantly engaging attention, memory, problem-solving, and quick decision-making. Research published in Nature Communications suggests that these cognitive demands may be associated with slower brain aging, with some gamers showing mental performance comparable to people up to 10 years younger.

🧠 Your Brain Is Listening to You… Even When No One Else Is Science suggests that the way you talk to yourself can influence how your brain works. Your thoughts and inner voice may affect stress levels, focus, and emotional balance. Negative self-talk can make your brain feel more stressed, while positive self-talk may help you stay calmer, stronger, and more focused. Over time, these patterns can shape how your brain responds to life. The shocking part? Most of this happens without you even noticing. So ask yourself… what is your brain hearing from you right now? Einstein argued that the connection between the elementary concepts of everyday thought and sense experience can be understood only intuitively; it cannot be completely fixed by scientific logic. For him, these connections distinguish science from a logical but empty system of concepts. - Albert Einstein, “Physics and Reality” (1936).

The Higgs boson is often described as the particle that gives mass to everything, but the reality is more interesting. The Higgs field helps endow elementary particles with mass, while most of the mass of ordinary matter comes from the immense energy binding quarks together inside protons and neutrons. In a very real sense, the weight of the world is not just a property of particles, but of energy itself.

This is why I love math…the perfect example of how truth, happiness, love, life, existence, space, time, wonder, success, and everything in between are open for interpretation which allows any & all to get from one point to another on whatever road they choose or prefer…🪄✨❣️
Six brilliant minds. One simple question. Six completely different ways of thinking. Which one would you use?
