Kemi Badenoch ,Nigerian leader of the British opposition, “distant past” anti reparations chat , is defeated in that up to 2015, eleven years ago, mi brother, paid taxes in UK ,burdened 3 decades with repaying the Planter who enslaved Edward Samuels his great ,great grandfather!!
The push back against reparations for slavery that “ it happened centuries ago” is answered by Bob Marley himself when he said :-
“ every time I hear the crack of a whip, my blood runs cold , how they brutalized our very souls”
Will King Charles go further than “we regret “ or will his Prime minister Burnam , wish to go further and give a long awaited apology? The Palace vs 10 Downing Street positions signals confusion over the “ gravest crime against humanity.”
Apology cannot stand without redress!!
Listen to the BBC Today Show channel 4 , tomorrow morning 730 British time , where I comment on King Charles’ visit to the Caribbean
Do all the good you can, by all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can. That’s the
John Wesley.
So where I am going down a “ hair pin” corner that takes me in the opposite direction I should put on my indicator ?
Replying to @BertSamuels
As one who has had similar issues I consulted AI which says ; RTA 2018 and accompanying RTR 2022 the Law requires Mandatory indicator use prior to and while making any directional change , without exception for designated lanes or traffic signal displays . Amendment may be needed
So where:-
1. To continue straight along Pechon Street is an offense
2. To go right along Barry Street is breaking a one way
My only lawful option is to enter Darling Street by turning left , when I do so I get a “ Darling “ ticket for failing to indicate my only option ??
Replying to @BertSamuels
You will soon have to indicate when you are going around a corner, im practicing.
You are right !!
If I proceeded along Pechon Street it would be a disobedience offense
So failing in to indicate that I will not commit that offense, I have landed another offense?
Since I can only go left, who am I indicating to that I will not disobey the prohibition?
Replying to @BertSamuels
You commit an offence, by failing to indicate your intent to not commit another traffic offence.
It’s the new gotcha!
CORRECTION !!
Travelled north along Pechon street , obeyed stop sign , turned left onto Darling street on my way to The Coronation Market. stoped by police , failed to indicate that I was going left.
No offense officer
Not with ‘no entry’ at that point on Pechon street !!
Lawyers successfully protest removal of trial by jury in England. This is a lesson to all those :-
1. who want Jamaica to abandon trial by jury, including our learned Chief Justice ; and
2. Those who opposed lawyers who marched for more just sentences for imitation firearms.
On the Slave Ships they stocked us on shelves 18 inches low where we remained for a 2 month voyage !! #doyourememberslavery
The Petition is available online on the Ministry of culture Website
So let’s discuss the SUBSTANCE of our petition and put the it’s FORM and who should sign to rest.
Ancestors’ business is SERIOUS business
No room for DETRACTORS!!
Replying to @Mekiedoll @BertSamuels
The Prime Minister is a member of the King's Privy Council, why didn't he send the petition with his signature?
Good talk MekieDoll I won’t smear the call of my Ancestors to respond to divisive party politics on this Petition issue
My Great Grandfather Edward Samuels was enslaved . As a trained lawyer I am committed to fighting for him and all else who suffered unrewarded during slavery
Excellent points by @BertSamuels
If the enslavers were compensated then why must a petition by us who are the descendants of the enslaved be frowned upon?
Many say “just let it go” but I disagree. It is right for us to get reparations too, just as they deemed it right for the enslavers to be compensated for their ‘losses’
