FOUR SUSPECTS DETAINED AFTER SHOTS WERE FIRED NEAR WALTER JOHNSON HIGH SCHOOL 🔫 Montgomery County Police have detained four suspects after a shooting on the 6600 block of Rockledge Drive in Bethesda this afternoon. The four suspects were detained after officers located evidence of a shooting next to WJ and found the group had matched the suspect description. As a precaution, Montgomery County Public Schools put nearby Walter Johnson High School in a ‘secure’ status (basically a lockdown) after the shots were fired, which has since been lifted. Other details remain limited due to police radio encryption; officers continue to investigate the shooting… #MoCo

Buying a class C apartment building in a rent controlled market at a 6.78 cap rate when debt financing is above 7%. Oof. Let’s wait until it’s a 10 cap and then see.

No way - we can not increase more taxes on Md drivers when already over half of the astronomical car registration and gas tax dollars we pay goes to mass transit - which is recovering less than 10% of its cost with fares. Marylanders are tapped out - no vehicle miles traveled tax, no more new car-related taxes - need to roll them back and transit needs to pay more for itself.

These people issued a "proclamation" celebrating "success and dedication" for a county economy that is completely stagnant -- by their own measures and data! You can't even parody this! Utter lunacy. @TheCantonCat @montgomeryleek @BethesdaRow !

the city that never sleeps (but also no trucks should be “allowed😤🍼😫” to drive at night)
How is a cyclist having a license going to prevent a truck from running them over? Instead of highlighting the real issue (why are we allowing trucks drive through Manhattan on a Friday night?), all the usual suspects immediately find ways to blame cyclists

Hey Maryland - LOOK at this... Here are the baseline vehicle title fees for Maryland and surrounding states. What do you notice? WV: $15 VA: $15 DE: $35 PA: $72 MD: $200 Maryland's vehicle title fee DOUBLED in 2025. Is this what "affordability" looks like?

I documented this exact same phenomenon as it occurs here in #MCPS. Read my Substack article, "Fully Funding MCPS Does Not Lead to Academic Excellence: Blank checks and rubber stamps have not moved the needle on reading and math scores, and that's because they can't." 👇👇👇 brilliantresilience.substack… Vote: #DiazForBOE @mcps @mceanea @davidstein65

@montgomeryplans There was a plan: M-83. But @MontgomeryCoMD, @MoCoCouncilMD, and @MontCoExec killed it after years of planning and gave in to activists who had little vested interest in the UpCounty communities most affected by the decision. Why should residents participate in a lengthy planning process if the plans that result from that process are ultimately abandoned? The County Council is delusional if it believes BRT and bike lanes alone will solve UpCounty’s transportation problems. We need roads, transit, and—most importantly—more jobs in UpCounty. Look at I-270 during the morning rush. Southbound lanes are jammed with people commuting to jobs in Bethesda, Silver Spring, Washington, and Northern Virginia, while much of northbound I-270 is moving freely. That tells us something important: this isn’t just a transportation problem. It’s also a jobs and land-use problem. We continue building communities in UpCounty while concentrating too many jobs farther south. Until the County Council better represents and understands the needs of UpCounty residents, I don’t see this changing. We collaborated once and we were sold fools gold. By the way, how is BRT down 355 and all day MARC coming? Still stuck on 270!
How can we improve transportation between Clarksburg & Montgomery Village as our communities continue to grow? We've got a study underway, w/@MCDOTNow, to examine existing traffic conditions & forecast future transportation needs through 2045. 🔗 bit.ly/3NPuvKW
