This is one reason we get stuck in endless wars…and why the @GOP is headed into a voter buzzsaw on November 3rd. This sentiment is misguided and lacking depth and understanding of the root causes of the problem. The President is correct and morally right in the call to move on past @ZelenskyyUa. Time America has a sound, America-only foreign policy. And throwing billions to a morally bankrupt regime in Kyiv is about as shortsighted and dangerous as it gets.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has the overwhelming support of the United States Congress, he has the overwhelming support of the American people, and he has the overwhelming support of the Ukrainian people. Russian illegally invaded Ukraine, a sovereign and freedom-loving nation, and Russia is squarely to blame for all damage and destruction, to both lives and treasure, that has resulted from Putin’s unprovoked attack.
@ZelenskyyUa, you know that the United States Congress, and the American people, stand 100% behind you. The Ukrainian people are so blessed to have you leading them in these difficult times. We have your back, and we will stand with you until Ukrainian victory is achieved. 🇺🇸 🇺🇦

21 year old college baseball player Davis Heller died on his sofa studying for a test, nine months after receiving a Covid shot. He had a medical exemption but @UofAlabama would not accept it.
Davis was an accomplished athlete with an incredibly positive attitude who said he wanted to be the “best teammate in the country.” He struggled with the decision to get the COVID shot but succumbed so he could fulfill his dream to play collegiate baseball.

Thank you, Mr. @POTUS for being the real leader and pursuing the road of peace for Ukrainians.
Attritional war has favored Russia for historical reasons that do not vanish because we dislike them. Its army can lose battles. The capacity of Russian society to endure exhaustion has repeatedly conferred an advantage on Russian governments, including the present one. Right now, Russia has stockpiled up to 700 ballistic missiles, thousands of cruise missiles and over 6,200 Geran drones, according to Ukrainian intelligence. Production is exceeding plans by 110–120%. Russia is capable of spending lives and material for as long as it judges the political object worth the spending, and it remains prepared to do so. Ukraine does not have the same depth. Pretending otherwise is not solidarity, but a way of expending someone else’s remaining years.
Exactly. Russia can be a critical ally for us moving forward. Good to see the adults driving the conversation.

Interesting, I didn’t hear this at the @Eagles presser…
Do you know why young, healthy athletes are getting life-threatening blood clots 5 years after getting the COVID shot?
Because there is no off switch.

Smart take. Accurate assessment of the President’s shift.
There is one extremely important detail in the US turning away from Ukraine that no one seems to have noticed.
Everything that happened in Ukraine since 2013–2014 happened under American influence. Simply put, the ideas and ideology behind the Maidan were created by the US. The Maidan elites were also chosen by the US to govern Ukraine in 2014.
In other words, post-Maidan Ukraine is a US vassal project that was expected to obey the interests of its master without question. Europe had no real role in this project. Moreover, after European representatives (Poland, France, and Germany) signed a memorandum with Yanukovych, Nuland made her famous comment: “Fuck the EU.”
The bloody violence of the Maidan and the rise to power of Poroshenko, Tyahnybok, Yatsenyuk, and the rest of that scum were the result of US decisions. The post-Maidan Ukrainian “elites” owe their power entirely to Washington, which also means they were expected to obey it completely.
In the eyes of Trump @realDonaldTrump and part of the American establishment, Zelensky did more than simply refuse to follow an order from his master, who at this point in history decided that making peace with Russia was the best option.
He betrayed the US and switched sides, seeking protection from Britain and the EU.
That is why the US is not simply turning its back on Ukraine. It is turning its back on the elites who betrayed it (in the Ukrainian tradition).
This means both the possible dismantling of these elites (Putin's victory No. 1) and the possible dismantling of the Maidan's ideological foundations (Putin's victory No. 2).
The refusal to provide support, weapons, intelligence data, and so on is only a consequence of this shift.

This was 2016 Trump. Need this guy every day. End the ‘endless wars’. Stop fueling the beast.
Wish he had reined in his buddy Lindsey on this issue before it got to this point.
Go Pat Go!
The establishment couldn’t stomach his brand of common sense, populism and patriotism.
Don’t forget, our small band of political warriors - led by Pat’s sister Bay - pulled off stunning wins in New Hampshire, Louisiana and Alaska. Coming in second in Iowa was a huge momentum build…then the back room went to work and the rest is history.
How different the GOP and our nation would be today if Pat had won the nomination that year.
Pat Buchanan was ‘2016 Trump’ in 1996.
Time for a comeback for populist patriots!
It’s the title of his autobiography…yes Pat has been “Right from the Beginning.”
Pat Buchanan, 1999:
“By moving NATO onto Russia’s front porch, we have scheduled a twenty-first century confrontation. … America will face a hellish dilemma: risk confrontation with a nuclear-armed Russia determined to recreate its old sphere of influence, or renege on solemn commitments and see NATO collapse.”
Therefore, he said, “Offering NATO memberships to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and, as some urge, Ukraine is rashness bordering on madness.” Referring to maps the Clinton team must have ignored, Buchanan warned, “This would put the Russian base at Kaliningrad behind NATO lines and bring into a U.S.-led alliance three nations with huge Russian minorities.” Foreseeing future conflict, he observed that “Latvia is almost half Russian; eastern Ukraine, almost entirely Russian. America could neither defend nor liberate these nations without the risk of nuclear war.”

Another criminal that has yet to face justice...
That particular moment when Victoria Nuland, in 2016, was bragging to the US Congress about how thoroughly Washington had taken over Ukraine after the 2014 coup.
She spelled it all out without shame:
🔴US operatives embedded in a dozen Ukrainian ministries.
🔴American-trained cops patrolling 18 cities.
🔴The US Treasury gutting 60 Ukrainian banks while sparing depositors to keep people quiet.
🔴Hundreds of millions of dollars funneled into molding Ukraine’s military.
Let's cut all the crap, this wasn’t "assistance", it was a takeover dressed up as aid.
"Unprovoked"
😂😂😂😂
February 2014. Maidan Square, Kyiv. John McCain filming the protests, standing shoulder to shoulder with US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt, while Victoria Nuland stands just behind them.
A striking snapshot of Washington’s direct involvement in Ukraine’s political upheaval.
The same officials who spoke so confidently about democracy were right there amid the turmoil surrounding the removal of a democratically elected president.
This raises an uncomfortable question: was this truly about defending Ukrainian democracy, or about Washington advancing its own geopolitical agenda at Ukraine’s expense?
