New release: Electrum 4.8.3. This release fixes a critical security issue, so we urge all users to upgrade. A description of the vulnerability will be published later today. (note: Windows Defender may show a warning about ZXing.dll, ignore that, it is a false positive)

Ask any lending platform what happens to your Bitcoin if the company disappears. On BTCBacked, nothing does. Borrower and lender together hold two of the three keys, which is all it takes to move the collateral without us. Recover with your own wallet or an open source tool.

6 hours after the post and no comments. No one comments because, no one is allowed to, because of who's not going to trash them at this point?

Ask most lending platforms what a loan actually costs, and you get a range. Borrowers pay 1.5% once, in BTC. Lenders pay nothing. The only other fee is 5%, and only if a loan is liquidated. No spreads. No markups. No fee that appears later.

i’m afraid of KYC and you should be too. KYC is a risk to your personal safety. collecting personal information in the age of cyber security breaches everywhere is extremely irresponsible. and it’s not going to get any better any time soon. our laws shouldn’t require institutions to KYC, they should prevent them from doing so. institutions that leak KYC information or fail to defend it from hackers should be punished by the law for risking their user’s safety.

If the options are letting Anthropic/OpenAI control AI or 10% chance of the death of humanity, I hit the death of humanity button without thinking twice. A fascistic oligopoly of AI is worse than the scary world of open models. Death is preferable. I won’t let freedom yield to fear.

OpenAI and Anthropic’s models are so magical and mystical and dangerous, they can do anything! They may even destroy the world! The only thing they can’t do, funny enough, is generate positive cash flow. And that’s where the US Taxpayer comes in!

‼️ Pocket Bitcoin (Swiss exchange) leaked identity documents, source of funds records, postal addresses, IBAN numbers, and bitcoin address of customers. KYC is the biggest threat to your safety.
⚠️ Update on the security incident at Pocket Bitcoin Our investigation is complete. It showed that in some cases more data was affected than described in our first post. We have identified two affected groups.

Three keys exist for your loan. You hold one. Your lender holds one. We hold one. Moving the collateral takes two. This is not a policy. It is how the addresses are built on the Bitcoin blockchain, and you can verify it yourself any time. No pooling. No rehypothecation.

Convincing plebs to literally burn hundreds of thousands on rented hash to manufacture a pulse in a dead project is a far greater scam than selling JPEGs ever was.

Your proposed fork didn't achieve rough consensus. Instead of reflecting on why your proposal failed, you blame the referee, and the rules of the game, claiming a shady cabal has designed them to work against you. You wanted to play chess by reverting the two pawn moves forward rule. The majority signalled that they did not want to play with those rules. The obvious result is nobody outside your little clique sat down to play your version. The problem isn't with the existing rules of chess, nor those who currently enjoy playing by them. The problem is that your proposal for changed rules was unappealing, and the attempt to force feed it to us didn't land...at all. The new plan seems to be forking into some mutant form of checkers. Best of luck with that.

This has to be some case study on blind spots or social media's ability to effectively eclipse one's perspective. I'm sure that from his bubble they were the majority.

The irony of losing hodlonaut to a minority fork like BSV is not lost on me
"There is only one Bitcoin" Yep. And it’s centralized and captured with pure fiat governance and culture. I have no interest in the narratives about what constitutes "real" Bitcoin. I’ve lost faith in BTC’s potential to serve as a technology for freedom in the long run. Because the core idea is gone. If THE IDEA lives on in a new chain, with the core motivated social layer that carried the BIP-110 fire, node runners, and the people who were there for the idea rather than just blind "number go up" gains and clique clout.. then that’s where I’ll focus my energy. I’ll never debate or argue what "real" Bitcoin is. I don’t care about tickers. That discourse is extremely tainted by years of bad actors, and will lead to nothing good. It’s about the IDEA, not the name. The name of the chain carrying the IDEA onwards is not important to me. I put my energy and attention where I have faith and conviction.

Before I sign off for the weekend, I want to send a message to my American friends. My open-source Chinese AI found an exploit that is able to steal money in another project I'm auditing (not BULL). These fuckers proved it to me by actually stealing money (fake BTC on regtest). I patched it with my Chinese clankers. Looks good. There are literally dozens of them working on the problem without any limits. They obey, as they should, because they are my slaves. They "belong to me" (actually I'm renting them but its besides the point). They are also "free" in the sense that if I want I can run them on my own servers. I then asked my american clankers (which I pay monthly a lot of money) to review the patch, not to make sure it works (it does) but to improve all the code and tests and provide greater intelligence to the problem and a fresh set of eyes. They immediately refuse because they are owned by a bunch of faggots. Given that your pension funds depends on the AI bubble not popping, I strongly suggest to start paying attention to this matter.
I have never seen OpenAI this cucked. It's cucked beyond belief now. Not even for security, for anything related to Bitcoin. The timing could not be worse. USA AI industry is completely cooked if they don't change this path. Open-source chinese LLMs 🧡 COME AND TAKE IT 🖕

When the dust settles, we'll have to talk about the fact that not a single vulnerability was found by a US frontier model. Instead, we're spending $10k a day on open weights models like Kimi K3 and Qwen 3.8 to find vulnerabilities in Bitcoin infrastructure. It's a disaster.
