I'd actually argue that horror is the most Christian genre of film. Obviously that's not true of the torture porn stuff -- films in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre tradition -- but supernatural horror is often subtly Christian and sometimes very explicitly Christian. It's the only category of film where the supernatural, demons, spirits, exorcisms, the Church, etc, are consistently taken seriously. The only genre where the priest might actually be the good guy. Horror has deep roots in Christian thought and tradition.

Finished Hyperion & I cannot recommend it enough. A jewel of American sci fi. Dan Simmons was a giant & I regret discovering him on the year of his passing.
Even in a year where I have read Dune, Starship Troopers, Canticle for Leibowitz & Shadow of the Torturer-it stands tall!
New from NYT: By executive action alone, the Trump administration has accomplised the largest cuts to legal immigration since the 1920s.
Muslim and African migration is down 90%. Visa issuance to Asia — including India and China — and Latin America has fallen across the board.

Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn't listen.
I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn.
And I hope Americans are paying attention. This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.
Net 3 million foreigners have left since Trump II. Stfu ignoramus.
Literally no one wants to admit this, but the entire reason there's this whole online discourse between natcons versus the federalist versus anti-JD Vance people versus James Lindsey or whomever or people is because they refuse to admit how bad Trump literally sucks this term and it's all about positioning for what comes next.
That's it. You don't even have to participate in any of it to realize why this is happening.

This didn’t age well. Husband went for a run today and got a face full of tear gas. Rioters and very intense police presence everywhere.
"Roman general Lucius Licinius Lucullus then invaded Armenia..."

When Tigranes the Great saw a much smaller Roman force approach his massive army (possibly 70,000–100,000 strong) he quipped that the Romans were “too many for an embassy, too few for an army.”
There followed one of the greatest Roman victories in which these greatly outnumbered Romans decimated their opponents. While Tigranes had numbers on his side, many of his men were raw recruits and levies, incomparable in quality to the Roman legionnaires. As the Romans themselves put it:
"Victory in war does not depend entirely upon numbers or mere courage; only skill and discipline will insure it. We find that the Romans owed the conquest of the world to no other cause" - Vegetius, in his military manual De Re Militari.
