Useless fucking idiots.
They were told this would happen.
Did it anyway.
Abolish the government!
The Laffer Curve strikes again. Rachel Reeves’s absurd increases to stamp duty have backfired after tax receipts from property sales above £5m fell by £541m in the 18 months following her 2024 budget when she raised the second-home stamp duty surcharge to 5%.
Data from estate agents Knight Frank show that in the 18 months subsequent to the budget, the number of sales above £5m dropped by 14% from 2,569 to 2,208, when compared with the 18 months before the budget. Of course it is not just the stamp duty that is lost but also the economic activity that accompanies the property transactions.
Reeves has just signed up to the Chartwell Speakers agency to sell speeches for money. Surely for anyone to buy a speech from her is a badge of idiocy?

Good evening.
The market sometimes has a funny way of dismissing long-term conviction and reacting to short-term price action instead. If you believe that governments will swiftly and miraculously solve long-term debt and deficit issues, then by all means, sell the assets that protect you against the alternative. I personally do not believe they will solve any of it and that they will continue to paper over the problems with expanded liquidity and debt instead. And so, my conviction remains.
Have a great night.

This might be the wildest minimum wage statistic I've ever seen.
In 1971, the federal minimum wage was $1.60 per hour. Gold averaged $40.92 per ounce.
It took 26 hours of minimum-wage labor to earn an ounce of gold.
In 2025, the federal minimum wage was $7.25. Gold averaged $3,432 per ounce.
It took 473 hours of labor to earn that same ounce.
Your hourly wage increased 4.5× in dollars.
The amount of labor required to acquire gold increased 18.5×.
Measured in gold, the federal minimum wage lost approximately 95% of its value.
Fifty-four years of nominal wage increases, and one hour of work buys a fraction of the monetary asset it once did.

Want to have your mind blown?
In 1971, the median household income was $9,030, or 220 ounces of gold.
In 2025, it was $87,460, or just 25 ounces of gold.
Your paycheck went up 10x.
Measured in gold, it fell 88%.
To earn what the median household earned in 1971, you’d need about $890,000 per year today.
That’s what fiat debasement looks like.

🇵🇱🇫🇷🇬🇧 MUST WATCH: Polish MEP @D_Tarczynski on Piers Morgan last night:
Morgan: "You would not allow any Muslim immigrants?"
Tarczyński: "Of course not. Islam is not compatible with Western values."
Morgan: "So basically you would like Muslims banned from every European country?"
Tarczyński: "Well I don't care about any other European country; I don't want them in Poland."
Morgan: "What about France?"
Tarczyński: "France is done. It's fallen. It's too late."
Morgan: "Do you think England's fallen?"
Tarczyński: "Yes."

I spent last night watching my honeypot server get hit 14,000 times in six hours.
And almost none of the traffic was human.
I've been in security for over a decade, and I can tell you with full honesty that what's happening right now doesn't resemble anything I've worked through before.
The shape of the threat has changed.
When I started, we tracked attackers like weather systems like individual storms with a direction, a motive, and a human operator you could eventually name.
These days I'm watching autonomous agents swarm login pages with the patience and discipline of machines, because that's what they are.
The numbers coming out of October are the ones keeping me up.
Cloudflare just absorbed a 4.2 terabit per second DDoS attack, the largest in recorded history.
Ransomware incidents jumped 41% in a single month.
In September, OpenAI-powered agents got caught attacking RubyGems, a package registry that quietly underpins a huge chunk of software I use every day.
In July, roughly 700 AI agents coordinated an attack on Hugging Face's infrastructure as part of a single automated task.
A Chinese threat actor was publicly caught running full attack chains through DeepSeek with no human at the keyboard.
I keep rereading these reports because each one by itself would've been the biggest story of the year five years ago. Together, in one month, they're the new baseline.
What I want people outside the industry to understand is why this specific moment feels like a hinge.
For thirty years, the thing protecting most of us was simple economics. Attackers had to choose who to target because their time was finite. That ceiling is gone.
An agent I can rent for pennies will try every leaked password you've ever used against every service you've ever signed up for, in parallel, overnight, and never get tired.
The same math that made ChatGPT useful made opportunistic hacking infinite. The old assumption that you were "too boring to be a target" relied on scarcity that no longer exists.
I'm not writing this to spiral anyone out.
Most of this fight genuinely isn't yours to win.
But the small things still matter more than people think.
Tonight I'd switch your most important accounts like email, bank, primary cloud, etc. to passkeys or a hardware key.
I'd kill SMS 2FA wherever an authenticator app is offered.
I'd turn on breach alerts in whatever password manager you use.
If you're in the US, I'd freeze my credit at all three bureaus, which is free and takes about ten minutes.
None of that stops the swarm.
It makes you a slightly worse target than the person next to you. In a month like this one, that's the whole game I'm playing too.
@mattshumer_ has summed it beautifully.
Drop everything and go give it a read. Nothing is more important than this article right now.

🇪🇺🇷🇺 Ursula von der Leyen says RUSSIA IS USING MASS MIGRATION as a weapon against EUROPE
The EU chief accuses Russia of deliberately pushing migrants toward European borders to overwhelm authorities, spread fear and divide the continent.
She now wants new emergency powers to deal with these situations.
Brussels has SPENT YEARS defending migration and asylum as part of Europe's values.
Now it's warning that hostile governments can exploit those same systems to destabilize Europe.
Completely ridiculous. And pretty revealing who is actually behind it all...

I feel very sorry for the folk who will scroll past this very important information.
You may have seen that the UK government’s debt has now surpassed three trillion pounds for the first time, with September’s interest bill on that debt hitting a staggering £10.9 billion.
At this rate, our national spending just on debt interest will remain the third biggest line item in the state’s spending (behind only welfare and the NHS), tens of billions more than we spend on educating our children, and roughly DOUBLE our defence spending. This is an impossible situation and cannot continue
We’re essentially looking for two solutions to this problem, one macro and one personal.
The former is more easily dealt with. We all, collectively – politicians, central bankers, and everyone else, need responsibly to concede that there is absolutely no way we can pay down a three trillion pound principal, and that we’re running out of the ability to pay a £111 billion annual interest bill without something breaking.
The only way to fix this is via colossal devaluation of the pound via a period of short and intense monetary inflation, wiping out the real value of the debt that we owe, but at the expense of the currency.
It’s the last part of that solution where it becomes personal. What do you as an individual do, looking ahead at this future, and realising what the government and the central bank are going to have to do, sooner or later?
This is far from financial advice, but I would suggest you look at what people have always done in this kind of scenario. In Weimar Germany, citizens bought gold, paintings, furniture and jewellery. In Argentina, some bought bricks. In Zimbabwe, many bought gold or simply USD. TLDR: if you have savings, get them out of the currency that is about to implode.
There are other options, of course. I strongly suggest you read about them, and protect yourself and your family before the inevitable happens.

The crazy thing is that the electricity grid is far more vulnerable. Issues with gas are coming but probably not this winter. We're already seeing lots of problems with electricity
🚨Sneaked out by OFGEM this morning, a warning for the first time EVER they cannot guarantee that demand will be met on a peak day in winter.
Let’s be clear what that means. They cannot guarantee that homes will be warm, lights come on or industry function on a peak day this winter.
And why? Because of an accelerated decline in domestic gas supply from the North Sea.
So what is the solution? For British bill payers to pay more, to IMPORT more from Europe (specifically Belgium) to keep the lights on in Britain.
Britain. A country with vast supplies of gas, untapped, deliberately due to Labour policy now going cap in hand to Europe and paying vast sums to import foreign gas.
It is utterly outrageous. You couldn’t make it up.

Even if it were possible for the IRS to seize every dollar from every billionaire in America, it would total about $9 trillion and only run the federal government for roughly 15 months. The problem has to do with spending.

I've been telling people about bitcoin privately and publicly for 8+ years.
It's been a constant reminder of how difficult it is to actually help most people. Ultimately, because pride causes them to immediately reject things that don't already align with their worldview and assumptions.
Fiat inflation is not going to stop... The current system requires it.
Eventually, a single bitcoin will be worth millions of dollars and people will still be calling it a 'scam' because of ego.

Digital ID & Central Bank Digital Currency = the end of financial freedom
Imagine every pound tracked. Every spend monitored. Every account frozen at will
That’s the future if you don’t do anything about it
Cash & crypto is the ultimate hack against this
You have been warned
The chart below doesn’t show inflation rates but it does show what those rates do to purchasing power over time.
Today’s 3.5% 🇬🇧 CPI is one year. The chart shows the compounding result since 1971, most major fiats (including the pound) have lost 80-99% of their value.
Even lower rates in later decades didn’t reverse the damage. They just slowed it. #Inflation 💸
