🚨 $BTDR TRIPLES BITCOIN PRODUCTION AS AI CLOUD BACKLOG SURGES PAST $2.9 BILLION
Bitdeer just released its September 2026 operations update, revealing significant growth in both bitcoin mining and contracted AI infrastructure business.
But there's an important distinction between its growing AI backlog and revenue currently being generated.
Here's the breakdown 👇
⛏️ BITCOIN MINING
▪️ 1,355 BTC mined in September, up 200% YoY from 452 BTC.
▪️ Self-mining hashrate reached 82.3 EH/s, up from 35 EH/s a year ago.
▪️ Co-mining hashrate jumped 33% month-over-month to 28.7 EH/s, with Bitdeer-owned miners operating at third-party sites.
▪️ Bitcoin holdings fell to just 47 BTC, compared with 2,029 BTC a year earlier.
🤖 AI CLOUD & $NVDA INFRASTRUCTURE
▪️ $2.9 BILLION in expected AI Cloud revenue backlog, up from $900 million in August.
▪️ 333.5 MW of secured AI Cloud capacity across Malaysia, Norway and the U.S., representing approximately 95% of Bitdeer's 350 MW target.
▪️ Over 70% of its 21.7 MW A201 facility in Malaysia is covered by customer offtake commitments representing more than $1.7 billion in expected revenue over five years.
▪️ GPU utilization improved from 92% to 95%.
⚠️ HERE'S THE IMPORTANT DISTINCTION:
Despite the more than threefold increase in AI Cloud backlog, Bitdeer's deployed GPU fleet remained unchanged at 4,328, while its annualized recurring revenue stayed flat at approximately $86 million.
The backlog represents expected future revenue, not sales already recognized.
🏗️ WHAT'S NEXT?
Bitdeer is also positioning its 563 MW Rockdale campus in Texas for AI/HPC development following a 200-acre land acquisition, while advancing a separate $4.7 billion colocation agreement in Norway.
The company is simultaneously scaling its bitcoin mining business and developing an AI infrastructure business with multibillion-dollar contracts.
The next test: converting contracted capacity into operating, revenue-generating GPU infrastructure.

Time to take a step back from the political debate over #AI #datacenters and rising electricity bills.
Our new explainer series starts with the basics: what you’re actually paying for.
The #AI boom is becoming an electricity-bill debate—and a midterm election issue.
Are #datacenters the problem? Introducing TheEnergyMag’s four-part explainer series.
With November approaching, concerns about data centers and household energy costs are moving from town halls to the campaign trail. Residents want to know whether they’ll be left paying for infrastructure built to serve Big Tech.
But understanding what a new data center could add to your bill starts with understanding what’s already in it.
Electricity costs cover more than the power you use. They also cover the system that gets it to your home.
EIA’s national electricity price breakdown for 2025 illustrates the split:
⚡ 56%: generating electricity
🗼 14%: moving it over long distances
🏘️ 30%: delivering it locally

Pennsylvania Gov. @JoshShapiroPA signs Executive Order 2026-05, imposing the nation's most aggressive regulatory framework on data centers. ⚡️🏛️
Key policy shifts:
✅ "First to Curtail": Utilities directed to cut data center power first during grid emergencies unless 100% dedicated capacity is secured
✅ Ring-Fenced Costs: Data centers must absorb 100% of interconnection and PJM reliability backstop charges
✅ Permitting Overhaul: Removed from fast-track programs; permits tied to binding GRID Consent Orders
✅ Complete Transparency: NDAs banned across state agencies; mandatory water/power reporting by 2027

The #AI infrastructure contracts got fatter. The stock-market candles got shorter.
We analyzed 25 #AI/#HPC deal announcements involving the public companies tracked for the TEM AI Infrastructure Growth Index.
The pattern was hard to miss:
• The best-fit absolute announcement-day stock move fell from 32.5% to 6.3%.
• Annualized base-term revenue per contracted megawatt edged up from $1.67 million to $1.90 million.
• The first eight announcements produced an average absolute move of 24.1%. The last eight averaged just 10.2%.
• Companies in our sample have already announced 2,039 MW in 2026—more than during all of 2025.
