I see through the prism of an Englishman, and a lineage of proud Englishmen and women who worked hard and served their country. I see through the prism of an Afro Caribbean of British ( Scots, Irish and Welsh whipped the thick scars into my forebears backs, too, if we're talking oppressed people's and all..) chattel slave stock. I see through the prism of an almost proficient as Gaelige speaker who went from Qui Seperabit, the Sash and "when the pope says no" ( a kid in my street told me British were good, Fenians were bad) to understanding the language better than 90% of Irish anywhere and learning it's rich history. I see through the prism of a kid and man who holidayed many a year in Snowdonia, Balloch, Inch Island, who's greeted every one of my neighbours in their Saints day or special days with Diolch or Latha fèill Anndrais sona dhuibh. I offered support to an exclusively Scottish mental health football charity, feel a strong affinity Celtic and indeed the Pax Celtica of "Let the people sing". So do you realise how rattlling the last few days have been if we're all adulting here? People who normally say "Love ya big maaa'n" now questioning my mental health because I can clearly see political anti Englishness with my own eyes, dressed as "banter"? Banter? Imagine telling someone who's been on here 20 years and has had every form of filth thrown at him daily that he can't take a bit of football banter with a straight face. The truth is, like that Pax Celtica who suffer still from the most obscene excesses of stereotyping, I've seen the same towards English people simply for being English. And that's wrong too.
