After Such Knowledge, What Forgiveness ?

Whatever happened with this ?
Calgary's former Mayor Jyoti Gondek is under RCMP investigation for corruption and more. She won't give access to police to do a forensic scan of her phone. It seems like there was 'votes for purchase' on policy that would benefit developers. As many thought... #yyccc

@gregorrobertson It is infuriating that you would treat such serious matters with such flippant, crude insincerity, and embarrassing that you would do so with such ineptness. If your party's policy failures prevent you from answering a question, have the class to admit as much.
Pierre is so good at Question Period This is an all-timer

If you were a boy in the early 70s EK was absolutely captivating.
(I forgot to post this yesterday) Fifty-one years ago on October 25, 1975, Evel Knievel made history by successfully jumping 14 Greyhound buses at Kings Island in Ohio. Flying 133 feet on his Harley-Davidson XR-750, the legendary stuntman achieved the longest successful jump of his career and drew a record-breaking 52% television audience on ABC's Wide World of Sports. The historic leap served as the ultimate redemption after his horrific Wembley Stadium crash just five months earlier, setting a world record that stood unbroken for 24 years. I loved watching him as a kid.

If Kenney is gloating it's not a win.
Virtually all of the slopulist right "influencers" in Canada were on Team One BC, which won 1% of the vote. They set their hair on fire when the BC Conservatives decided to stabilize themselves as a mainstream centre-right party at the beginning of the campaign. As with the Alberta referendum, this is yet more evidence that these so-called influencers have no influence, and should be broadly ignored by sensible, principled Canadian conservatives.

It was a fun couple of days.
SOME FACTS: LORNE DOERKSON was elected as a LIBERAL MLA in 2020, Cariboo-Chilcotin as a BC Liberal. 2023: Became a BC United MLA when BC Liberals changed their name. May 31, 2024: Crossed floor to join John Rustad BC Conservatives. October 2024: Re-elected as a BC Conservative. October 24, 2026: Won Premier. Yeah, excuse me for NOT being excited about the new LIBERAL PREMIER, who has NO LOYALTY! On top of that, he hired Kim Henderson, who previously served under former B.C. Liberal premiers Christy Clark and Gordon Campbell.

New 30 km/h area speed limit signs will be posted at neighbourhood entry and exit points. Once you enter a signed area, the 30 km/h speed limit applies throughout the local road network until you leave that area. Slower speeds help reduce the risk of serious collisions and make neighbourhood streets safer. Learn more about the change: toronto.ca/LocalSpeed

Operation Slow-Walk.
Maj.-Gen. Wade Rutland, Commander of 1st Canadian Division, on the four soldiers killed in the CFB Wainwright fire: "I can't tell you today we have all the answers because we do not." @RebelNews_CA

If the BOI into the tragedy in Wainwright is found to be the result of DEI command or slackened standards or policies and you think they're going to make that public, then I've got a space station in Nova Scotia to sell you.

Name another provincial opposition leader that gets as much media play as Nenshi . I"m settling in for a long wait.
Alberta NDP Naheed Nenshi just COOKED his chances of ever forming government in Alberta He actually believes immigration number are going down in Canada. He is taking a PRO Immigration stance which is exactly what his province just rejected.

The purpose of a system is what it does.
NEW: 3 men convicted of brutally killing an Abbotsford couple get a HUGE break from BC Supreme Court Justice Brenda Brown. To her, the Criminal Code prescribing 25 years of parole ineligibility infringes upon their Charter rights guaranteeing against cruel & unusual punishment.

6 cadets were killed , 56 injured by a grenade during a safety training lecture at CFB Valcartier in 1974. Completely forgotten.
The worst training accident in the history of the Canadian Army took place last night. Catastrophic mass casualty event with potentially hundreds of casualties. A comprehensive investigation must be conducted. The incident as described should not happen or even be possible. Our hearts go out to the soldiers families and their comrades working through the night to recover the dead and care for survivors.

Just assuming someone has already said "A media embargo because of CAF death/next of kin protocols is a uniquely Canadian virtue - its who we are".

Let's skip ahead to where documents are "leaked" showing the govt was made aware of risks , acknowledge it and,in the usual beurocratic fashion, did nothing.

LOL it's always funny seeing these folks get a brief taste of the BS they've made their political opposition experience for the past ~13 years.
Meta took down the No Kings organizing page today - the biggest day of protest this fall. They provided zero explanation. It stayed down for the entire afternoon until most of the protests were done. Outrageous. Put this on the January investigation list.

CBC platforms UCalgary professor Melanee Thomas—whose work frames politics through “liberal colonialism,” “anti-Indigenous racism,” and an “equity lens”—as a neutral expert when the target is Pierre Poilievre. After his Calgary speech, she told CBC he “lean[ed] into the settler colonial history of this space” and offered only “a very particular white settler history,” then dismissed the rest as “pretty much the Conservative Party of Canada campaign speech.” When Mark Carney delivered a unity speech in the same city the night before, CBC switched to full speeches, loving/cheerleading live coverage, and “passionate” framing with almost no scrutiny One gets the expert label and the settler-colonial framing. The other gets the soft-focus treatment. That’s not journalism
