Stockstill: "I'm honored to be here. I'm gonna bust my tail to give this program everything I have and everything we have." He wants alumni players, administration, leadership to be proud of FSU football.

In 2020, I collected quotes from #FSU players through the decades. The concept was "why I signed with FSU." Rick Stockstill, now FSU's interim head coach, was at Middle Tennessee at the time and offered up his thoughts: "I signed with FSU because of Coach Bowden. My class was coach’s first full recruiting class. I believed in his vision and plan that he had for FSU football. He was the type of coach that you could feel his love and passion for coaching and I wanted to be part of something special that he was building as FSU had not had much success the previous four-five years. And we wanted to help coach build FSU football into a national name.”

Bruce Warwick says Rick Stockstill coached 224 games at Middle Tennessee. His knowledge of Florida, HS coaches and scouting were advantages in naming him FSU's interim head coach.
Interim AD Bruce Warwick: Mike Norvell called his wife, Maria, and then went into #FSU's team meeting. Warwick says Norvell "was very passionate, he was very emotional." He relayed that Norvell wants to see them find success and that he will be following them.
McCullough says Daniel Parker, who runs a search firm, will be leading the hunt for FSU's next athletics director and football coach.
