This is the single largest kill count IS has achieved globally in years, not only in the Sahel.

There have been intensified efforts by Islamic State cells in Zamfara and Niger states, operating under the name Awaamul Muslimeena Fee Nigeria, to recruit bandits through preaching and religious outreach. The cells have mostly Fulani Islamic clerics from the Republic of Niger..
Two IS-Sahel field commanders were also reportedly assassinated two days ago by a small squad of JNIM fighters, in the same way Abu Zeid and Sadou were killed in recent months.
Despite come claims that Jaafar Dicko, JNIM's Emir in Burkina Faso, was killed by IS, other sources report he simply left the area of battles, likely for his own safety, which is unusual for the commander who usually leads important battles when needed.
Fighting is still fierce between IS-Sahel and JNIM until now in the Gourma region in both Mali and Burkina Faso, both groups have also called in large reinforcements and unverified reports talk of hundreds more casualties.
According to pro-IS sources, IS-Sahel captured over 200km of territory from JNIM during the battles between the two groups today in northern Burkina Faso.

IS-Sahel claimed a series of attacks that targeted both Nigerien🇳🇪 and Nigerian🇳🇬 forces in recent weeks, resulting in the death and injury of 51 soldiers and militiamen.
On August 11, the group claims to have clashed with the Nigerian army near Maiyama, Kebbi State in northwestern Nigeria, killing three soldiers and capturing their weapons and motorcycles.
IS-Sahel also claimed the previously reported attack against a position of Nigerien forces in Tessa, Dosso region on August 21 which resulted in the death of 14 personnel and the destruction of two vehicles and parts of the outpost.

Reports are emerging of a new major battle between IS-Sahel and JNIM in northern Burkina Faso today, resulting in hundreds of casualties and allegedly IS capturing swathes of territory from JNIM.
IS-Sahel has released a lengthy statement on the recent battles with JNIM near the Burkina Faso Mali border on September 1, according to the Islamic State, 200+ JNIM militants were killed, 30 of which were taken prisoner and then executed.
The group also reported capturing four armed vehicles, 200 motorcycles, 242 rifles and other weapons along with large amounts of ammunition, 100 motorcycles were also destroyed during the battle.

Suspected IS-Sahel militants overran a military camp of the Nigerian army on October 5 in the town of Bindin, Zamfara State in NW Nigeria, killing at least 25 soldiers and looting weapons and vehicles, if the attack is claimed it would be the largest by the group in this zone so far.
It's interesting to see the US aircraft looking at the border between Sokoto and Zamfara, IS-Sahel started fighting bandits and taking over their camps in Zamfara state since at least 2024, while some of the bandits 'repented' and joined the so-called Islamic State,
This has helped the group expand its territory westward towards ISWAP and gain local legitimacy for protecting communities against bandits, of course not out of good will but more as a way to religiously implant itself as the legitimate government.
ISWAP conducted an attack against the Kukawa military camp of the Nigerian army last night, reports suggest the assault was repelled and at least 14 terrorists were killed and their weapons captured by the troops.

JNIM conducted two attacks this morning against Burkinabè forces in the towns of Sollé and Seguenega, northern Burkina Faso, details to follow.
